Universe in Reverse

One of the true undiscovered gems of the UK, by all rights the Infadels should be living in gold plated towers following the genius of their debut "We Are Not The Infadels". However, for them it was not to be, so now out of seemingly nowhere is "Universe In Reverse".

This new record sees them ditch the day-glo and head in more of an Arcade Fire direction ("Free Things For Poor People") mixed with the atmospherics of a band like Spiritulized ("Don't Look Behind You"). While first listen leaves you feeling a bit bemused on their new style you find yourself revisiting the best moments and eventually the whole album.

First album I've bought in years that every track is worth listening to. Usually there are at least a couple dud tracks, not on this album though. Has something for everyone, from pop to rock to dance & even a bit of a trancey song. Get it.

Can't Get Enough

The Infadels manage to fuse Indie Rock/Dance very well and this track from the album 'We are not the Infadels' carries on in that thread!

The track sounds very like The Clash's high energy stuff with an electro/techno solos and undertone!

From the opening chords of the dance around and be happy Love like Semtex to the very last synth beat of Stories from the bar this album is ace from start to finish. It's different, sorta dance but rock with a bit of acid dropped in too.

The singles do stand out although the early single Jagger '67 is my personal fave Infadels song, but Girl that speaks no words and Can't get enough are also very very good (Can't get enough featuring on the Mazda advert campaign and one of the Fifa series.)

If your looking to buy this album and have never seen the 'dels live I would reccomend the one with the DVD as it'll show what you missed out on when the band went on a year long mammoth tour of the world promoting the album to their growing band of ... Read More:
