It might seem that practically every rap album released in the early 90s is awarded a '5 star' rating. Which makes you wonder how credible that rating really is, nonetheless we have the second offering from Ice Cube, before his music started to go downhill and his acting career became priority.

Highly anticipated at the time of its release in Autumn 1991, this album features a lot of controversial material, provoking accusations of racism in songs like 'Black Korea' and 'Horny Lil' Devil'. Also recorded at a time of acrimony between Cube and the remaining members of N.W.A. 'No Vaseline' is Ice Cube's response to comments made in the N.W.A. song '100 Miles and Runnin'.

short + probably lazy review of a classic album...

The Predator has it all : attitude with brains + social commentary abt life in the "good" ol US of A, great thought provoking lyrics + varied and funky/also funny samples, great funky loops all over the place (thks to dj Muggs) , AND ice cube (he of NWA originally youngsters out there..) lyrically on top form ., venom,brains + the funk.

just buy. if only hip hop had maintained THIS standard since the predators release in '92.. buy buy buy.

Iv just got this album and its seriously raw,every song is dope,im a BIG westcoast fan and i knew cube wouldnt let me down,iv heard LAX and its also dope,i couldnt say which one is better cause their both amazing,please pick this up and support real hip hop,Classic

this is not a compilation of his best songs. only a few are his best, most are just pop style tracks. this is annoying how they could make a greatest hits album that doesnt have his classics on. its a shame.

Ice cube is a legendary rapper and is one of my favorites, he always does really good albums and tunez. Some of the songs on this album are good but it's to long - theres to many tracks. Most of them are completely differant to what he normally does and are quite boring. But i do have some favorites on it. I reccommend Ice cubes greatest hits or death certificate. James Godden.

This is easily Ice Cubes best album. The recordings are very crisp with solid bass and treble, and the rapping is superb. This is one of my favorite albums of all time along with 2Pacs-Don Killumanti, Dr Dre's-2001, Snoop Dog's-Doggy Style, Nas's-Illmatic/Stillmatic, Wu Tang's-Greatest Hits Etc. An absolute classic. If you like HIP-HOP/Rap BUY IT!
