I first got this album in 92 - loved it - lost it - forgot about it! - bought it again in 2004 - ABSOLUTE GENIUS! - IN MY OPINION, THE BEST GANGSTER RAP ALBUM EVER - ABSOLUTE CLASSIC! - STILL SOUNDS GREAT TODAY! - LYRICS ARE FAR SUPERIOR TO OTHER RAPPERS! - THERE IS ACTUALLY A STORY TO EVERY SONG - AS YOU'LL SEE - THEY'RE PRINTED IN THE ALBUM COVER - SO SING A LONG TO! - BET YOU CAN'T KEEP UP!!!!

This was the very first rap album I ever purchased and will always have sentimental value to me. I like every track on this album but I think the standout for me is the title track. Every Ice T fan should own this album. It is a 1988 classic in my eyes..

Home Invasion

This is my favourite rap album ever, had it since i was 11 and has been a big influence. The intro is hilarious as Ice warns about all the obsenities you're about to hear in the album, this has later been parodied by goldie lookin chain which will make you laugh even more if you heard the original first. This album is angy and sinister, especially the start of 'It's on', 'that's how I'm living' and 'addicted to danger'. The stand out tracks are 'It's on', 'Ice M F T', 'G style' and 'watch the ice break', these are absolute bangers that you'll want to crank right up, especially if you are driving home from work. Return of the Real

This is must for all Ice T fans. This is Ice at his best, it's also way better than O.G. Cramp your Style and Forced to do dirt [19+17]are some of the best tunes I have ever heard, but the whole album is just amazing. If u like rap u need to get this, Ice's lyrics are clever, funny and generally brilliant.

Ice-T's first major release paves the way for the 'gangsters are cool' genre.

Even now, in 2005, this stuff sounds so fresh.

Modern day rap 'know-it-alls' know nothing without getting some foundational material from the old-skool hip-hop scene, and starting with this and a good dose of Eric B and Rakim, NWA and Mantronix would be a good place to start to see where the likes of Eminem and 50-Cent owe much credit.

Yeah, it's old, but dated this isnt!

Greatest Hits: the Evidence

Do NOT buy this CD. I bought it in the hope that I would have a definitive Ice T CD. Unfortunately, I was badly let down. This is a collection of tracks that can hardly be called 'Greatest Hits'. They are not memorable. Ice has made the mistake of putting together not his best songs, but a collection of tracks that mean a lot to him personally; that describe his early life, experiences etc. MISTAKE. The result is a collection of boring tracks that will hardly linger in your mind. You can tell the way the CD is going by the very first track: 6 'N The Morning. This sounds just like the Will Smith opening song in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air!! Why include this in your Greatest Hits compilation? Not good. Also one of the tracks includes an attempt ... We have been waiting for these tracks a long time. The other half of the album? Well there is a reason I have only given it four stars.

The tracks that really stick out are:

1. Gangsta Rap
The title track plays like a quick walk through hiphop history

2. Ridin' Low
