I aproached this album after hearing about the players involved. When the core members feature Ill Bill from Non Phixion, MC's Slaine and Big Left with Danny Boy, DJ Lethal and the mighty Everlast from the House Of Pain then you know you're in for a treat. Make no mistake though, this is not 'commercial' rap music. This is the real deal.
Inside you'll be served hard-hitting beats with production from DJ FM, Q-Unique, Krohme and several others and book-ended with disturbing interview segments from Charles Manson. Guest artists include Sick Jacken and Cynic from Psycho Realm, Killah Priest and Jeru The Damaja. The lyrics cover street life, war, guns, life in Brooklyn and the apocalypse! And everything dark in between. You'll get no mention ... Read More:

For fans of Non-Phixion - and there are a sizable number growing out there - Ill Bill's debut album was highly anticipated. The long time lynch-pin of the group has proved himself in the past, most notably on the Non-Phixion debut album The Future Is Now.
This album is not a repeat of that.
Ill Bill is a talented enough rapper, and the Non-Phixion crew are 'alternative' enough to avoid the stereotypical subject matter that hip-hop/rap has now begun to stagnate in. The Future Is Now was different - not only in subject matter, but also in the beats and production which were rawer than anything else commercially available. The problem is that these beats are now becoming stale, thanks to the ongoing efforts ... Read More:

Hot mix album - Ill Bill's wordplay coupled with the sheer exuberance he displays on the mike makes this one, like pretty much everything else he's involved with, a must for fans of gritty hip-hop. Bill keeps it gangsta but at the same time the occult, conspirancy and political themes in his raps keep him more than just that cut above most thug rappers out there. Notable guest appearances from Raekwon, Skam 2 and La Coka Nostra (all-star team featuring the likes of Everlast, Slaine and Bill himself) further consolidate this cd. Only thing missing from my point of view is lyrical input from Ill Bill's regular cohorts, e.g. Goretex, Necro etc.
