From the very start of this album, with the heavy, dirty chords and the high harmony in the vocals of "Privelige" you know that you've made the right choise in buying this album. Incubus vary the songs trememdously throughout this album from full on heavy songs (out from under), to slow songs (drive, the warmth) to 3 way DJ battles (Battlestar scralatchtica). The Highlight of this album has to be the astounding "pardon me", which finds a mixture of scratching, rapping, loud AND quiet guitar and amazingly good vocals.

This band are extremly talented, and this cross-genre masterpeice proves this.

Incubus are one of rocks most highly underrated bands, and songs like this prove exactly why they deserve ALOT more attention than they get.

This song is amazing, the gentle guitar line, and the relatvily gentle scratching from DJ killmore contradict nicly as Brandon Boyds amazing vocal ability is laid over the top to finish it all off perfectly.

This song is very laid back, calm, emotional and very easy for virtually anybody to get into, this is definetly worth buying.

But still a great chill album. If you're looking for plenty of heavy tracks, then I suggest S.C.I.E.N.C.E or Make Yourself, as this is more of a mellow compilation. Whlst there are some heavier tracks like Circles, Have You Ever, and Under my Umbrella - I didn't find these as convincing as the heavy stuff from the older albums. It's the mellow tracks which you'll be buying this album for, such as 11am, Echo, Just a Phase, and Are You In. These tracks are what elevates this album and as always Boyds vocals and lyrics are right there. The first single Wish You Were Here is definitely one of the highlights, combining the chilled factor with some heaviness and resulting in a very listenable track.

A Crow Left of the Murder... [VINYL]

As an incubus fan i was excited at the prospect of a new album, my excitement was not duely met. this album was billed as a return to the funkier heavier days of incubus but that it defintely did not do. this album unlike previous progressive incubus albums has simply regressed to the days of make yourself and morning view it is simply what youd expect from a band like the coral or something and just sounds plain no exciting original riffage or awesome breaks into new genres as id expect. if you like morning view or make yourself then buy it but this is a plain album and offers nothing more than either of those two so your better off buying science this is truely a let down and not really worth the money at the moment becuase it will soon be in the ...
