I used to own this album 8 years ago but I lost it. I just bought it again and I still love this album. There are so many kinds of music that I out grew after I left my 20's. But this album is so original and full of emotion and creativity. It still rocks and there is nothing like it.

Joan Osborne is still best known over here in the UK for the huge hit single "(What If God Was) One Of Us", but her career is so much more than that.

From her own Blues / soul albums to a stint with the Grateful Dead to a scene stealing appearance in the rockumentary "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" right on to the 2006 country album " Pretty Little Stranger", she has always managed to dash preconceptions and come up trumps. If you get the chance, track down one of the live recordings of the shows she performed with Phil Lesh & Friends for some truly amazing music. But, now, a year after its US release, her latest album is getting a UK release.

It's a hybrid album, part tribute / part original, almost a follow ... Read More:

Whilst not showing the same degree of songwrititing as on "Relish" or even "Rightous Love" this early recording shows the potential later realized. For anyone who loves Joan's voice, as I do, I would also urge them to try "How Sweet It Is", an album of cover versions with immaculate vocalizations.

One of Us

I think that Joan Osborne has done a brilliant job in producing this CD especially "One Of Us". Even if your not a person of a spiritual or religous nature, you cannot help but wonder "what if". Even though the song is about four years old, it sounds just as fresh as the first time I heard it and still gives me goose bumbs. The lyrics accompanied by the voice of Joan Osborne is truely inspirational and I recommend this CD if not than at least this track. I will never be able to look at a tramp or stranger on the bus in the same way again. Well done Joan!
