well what to say about this cd?
when i first got this cd i had only heard the song angelica before which i absolutely loved so much it made me buy the greatest hits.
when i first bought this album it took some listening to to get used to, but my god now it is one of my favourite cds, i can listen to this cd again and again. all the songs are so different in pace and melody, some songs been just in a state of pure idilic ecstacy while others have eclectic beats to rock youre socks off mostly having the very haunting vocals of the female singer, and ill tell you now her vocals are soomething else, very nice to listen to.
so without further ado get this cd!!! if you havent heard much of lamb before then this is the perfect ... Read More:

I found this in a local charity shop and paid 99p out of curiousity. I certainly wasn't disappointed with this intelligent mix of genres and some heart wrenchingly sublime tracks such as 'Zero' and 'Gorecki'. This album has also educated my teenage son to appreciate the diversity of Drum & Bass- its definately my find of the year.

There is a saying among the more die-hard of lambfans, one perpetuated by Andy Barlow and Lou Rhodes (the central two members of the band, and at the time "Fear of Fours" was released, its only members), that each album relates to a part of the body. Their debut, "lamb", was 'stomach'. Their third, "What Sound", was 'Heart'. Their Fourth (released in the EU in early Nov 2003, Oct 20 in Australia) "Between Darkness & Wonder", had already been dubbed 'spirit' by those select online fans (including myself) who were lucky enough to have heard it before its official EU release date. Fear Of Fours, their second album, is very definite in deserving the moniker 'head'. Some say this is the least spiritual of the three albums (primarily people who fell ... Read More:

Lamb of God 's New American Gospel debut featured a caustic yet lucid version of post-Pantera death metal, surprisingly effective songwriting, massive amounts of confidence for a brand new band, and, to be honest, a really annoying drum sound (rather like tightly skinned tin cans). Even though the latter point is certainly subject to opinion, at least the other two positive attributes can be partly explained by the group having already cut an earlier album while still going by the rather unsavory name of Burn the Priest. Which about catches everyone up to discuss the band's second effort as Lamb of God, 2003's equally impressive As the Palaces Burn. First off, gone is that out-of-whack percussive curiosity (thanks, boys!), but the band's knack for conjuring ... Read More:

Following a tour in Portugal, LAMB decided to call it a day. Citing the very definite personal differences between them, Andy and Lou chose to split up - and promptly got back together again to produce "What Sound", described by Lou as a 'heart album' as opposed to the 'head album' that is it's predecessor, "Fear of Fours". Now with a permanent band behind them (Oddur, Jon and Nikolaj), LAMB have produced an almost painfully poignant, emotions-driven and organic album, with the trademark vast, often unpredictable range of vocal and instrumental styles. Lou's Zen spitituality can be seen most powerfully in 'Small', while Andy dons his Hipoptimist cap for the instrumental 'Scratch Bass'. With the third album typically very difficult for most artists, "What Sound" breaks the ... Read More:

I'd like to start by just saying that Lamb of God are awesome! Their guitars are awesome, their drums are awesome, their vocals are awesome, they are just plain awesome. This album is no exception. As heavy as anything you'll hear its just something that you'll play, then want to play again! Its just that good. Tracks:
'Laid To Rest': Perfect start to the album. Great riff and great vocals. This is Lamb of God at their finest. It doesn't get much better than this. 5/5
'Hourglass': Ok, not one of LOG's best but it is undenialably them. Not a track that you would want to skip, but won't be played as much as the others I reckon. 4/5
'Now Youve Got Something To Die For': Best track on the album. This has awesome lyrics with Randy just screaming ... Read More:

Well, what can I say? They have done it again - and possibly with their best album yet! Don't get me wrong, I love all their albums, but this was the first Lamb Of God album I bought after hearing Redneck on Kerrang, and I've been hooked ever since! If you are a fan of Lamb Of God, then you will love it; if you are new to metal then this album is a very good starting point! I couldn't choose any standout tracks if I tried because they're all amazing - the sound of musicians at the top of their game. Mark Morton and Willie Adler lay down some amazing riffs to rival even the mighty riffs of 'Laid To Rest' and 'Hourglass' from Ashes Of The Wake - 'Redneck' is a favourite of mine, with a riff to die for!
Album opener 'Walk With Me In Hell' has a really dark opening riff, then it ... Read More:

As I saunter and tip-toe around one dreamy spiritual track to the next, I realize our beloved Lamb duo has done it yet again. And perhaps, for the last time (I sure wish it wasn't true!). I picked this up 3 years ago and I heard only last year that the duo had parted ways. It seems like they had so much more to offer but it's hard to keep two brilliant minds at bay. Like all things in music and life, you must grow, evolve and take risks in order to flourish or risk becoming stagnant and complacent - which would be a greater tragedy. As for this album, they ended off on a very high note. A seemingly simple, innocent and light facade on the surface gives way to an underlying complexity of rhythms and emotions that are forever thought-provoking. And on the track 'Learn', Lou's voice takes a ... Read More:

This CD is wonderful! The range of material included is excellent, running from 11th century religious content to modern works written just a few years ago. The works are extremely varied, but the CD works on the common themes of music with a modal sound and of music of mourning (hence the subtitle "Ancient Tears"). The use of traditions and instruments from other cultures is refreshing, and the different styles serve to hold the listeners interest. The sounds and melodies grab the attention at once, but the intricacy of the music keeps you interested on subsequent listenings - keep an ear out in particular for the first musically coherent quarter tone playing I've ever heard (!), which crops up in track 6.
This CD is a great achievement, linking as it does such a variety ... Read More:
