I haven't heard the whole album but I just want to say that Live with Me with Terry Callier is the sexiest record EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It even beats Night Nurse by Gregory Issacs and that's saying something!
Release Date June 01, 1991
In reference to the review dubbing this a one track album, what album were you listening to???? I am offended by your review!
Yes unfinished sympathy is a truly great song, but is by no means the best on the album! Blue lines is one of the greatest albums ever and every track is a classic!
Release Date April 20, 1998
I bought this album because it had "Teardrop" and "Angel" on it,but I took the opportunity to sit in a completely dark room and properly listen to this...and couldn't stop listening to it the day after as well! It's calming, dark and beautifully written, especially songs like "Risingson", "Teardrop" and "Black Milk" (my new favourite!)
Buy this album, prepare to fall in love.

I remember well the period of the early nineties - and the sounds that were in my life then. Much of my leisure time was spent clubbing: fast-paced, loud, excitable and generally full-on. It was a good time and the music I heard when I was out was fantastic. But I often felt some "humanity" was missing. During those 'down times' I'd drop Protection onto my record player and slide back into a feeling of warmth, honesty and embracing lyrics. "Lyrics!" I thought, that's what's was missing! What was the point otherwise? It was simply music only of the 'thrill factor'. Of course I listened to other classics that my collection contained, but this was the sound at the time. And Massive Attack had seemed to tap into the zeitgeist.

In my opinion, this album is an absolute masterpiece. There are many things I like about it. The first is that there is no other album in the universe that is anything like it. The second is that the music is so captivating and quality, and the third is that it is best played loud! I'd like to apologise to my neighbours!
This album demands to be listened to. Unlike some other reviews, I don't think this album is repetative, I think it's just the same style of music, like Kraftwerk, only it's nothing like Kraftwerk. It's also nothing like their other albums so it's nice to have a change.
My favourite tracks are :
-Futre proof
-What your soul sings
-Special cases
-Butterfly caught
-A prayer for England ... Read More:

Fantastic, forget Protection, I think many people who buy this are expecting a remix of Unfinished Sympathy. It's not, it's dub, that's what it was meant to be and that's what it is. It does exactly what it says on the tin.
Dub originates from Jamaican producers in the 60s messing around with the instrumental track of popular reggae hits, often as B sides. The echo chamber often being the weapon of choice, this is what the Professor triumphs at and what he is best remembered for.
It drags you in and spits you out, enveloped in a gluey, sticky bass bubble, adhering you helpless to the sofa and unable to reach for the controls. What a way to go......

This is the same album as Danny the Dog.
Danny the Dog is the Hong Kong (English) name for the film. Unleashed is the American name for the film. I found this out when listening to the cd thinking, "I've heard this before". Looking online I found that the film was rebranded and I already had the soundtrack to Danny the Dog....

I don't normally go for "Best Ofs" or "Collections" but I felt this was an exception. The whole package is superbly produced and contains all you need for a look back at MA's history. They are a truely creative and influential band and just so different from anything else that has been.
The first disc has some old favourites, my personal ones being Unfinished Sympathy, Butterfly Caught, Teardrop and Protection.
The 2nd disc was more hit and miss for me, but I have to make a special mention for I Against I, a collaboration with Mos Def, whom I like very much as an artist in his own right. I first heard the track on an UNKLE CD (Edit Music for a Film) and was instantly gripped by it's pulsating beat.
The vocals from the female artists are ... Read More:
