. Dear Companionby: Meg Baird Release Date June 11, 2007 Finally got my copy of Meg Baird's "Dear Companion" solo album on CD. And it's wonderful! I loved her vocals with Espers and wanted to hear more. Then there was the 7" single last year (both songs included on the album) and talk of a forthcoming solo album, which got me excited. Now it's here. This album allows her vocal talent to shine without some of the more noisy aspects of Espers swamping it. It's good selection of traditional songs, more recent covers and a couple of her own compositions. A lovely folky acoustic album, with beautiful and sometimes delicate vocals. Highly recommended. |
