Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? [CASSETTE]

by: Megadeth

Release Date October 17, 1990
This album is now nearly 20 years old, but still sounds absolutely phenomenal. For me, it's the best album that Mustaine has ever made. Not as po-faced as Metallica, and more melodic than Slayer, the Megadeth of 1986 rivalled both bands for sheer power and musical inventiveness. Each song's construction is varied, never just verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus - in fact, they could have written twice as many songs just using the existing riffs on this album! The songs also vary the tried and trusted thrash formula, seldom resorting to low E-string abuse. With not one dud track, and some of the best and most original guitar-work you'll hear anywhere, you really owe it to yourself to buy this album whether you were there in the day, or are a ... So Far So Good So What/Rust in Peace/Peace Sells But Who's Buying

by: Megadeth

Release Date June 25, 2001
This could possibly be a collection of three of the best metal albums of all time, Peace sells is unmissable with anthems like the title track and i aint superstitious. Next there's so far, so good, so what with Megadeth's brillient version of the sex pistols anarchy in the uk, then theres mary jane and in my darkest hour. Last but definately not least theres Rust in peace a very political yet outstanding pure metal album i cant tell you how good this is, if your a metal fan and hasnt got this album then your not a metal fan just listen to the opening track (Holy Wars) and you'll know what i mean, rust in peace goes from the pure thrash of tornado of souls to the mellow sounds of the dawn patrol. This is a collection not to be missed.

by: Megadeth

Release Date August 23, 1999
After a long wait it's here! An album of Megadeth covers. I ask who are these bands for two reasons- I have only previously heard of Habeas Corpus and Mind-Ashes-the first is that I lament the lack of big names. Perhaps they couldn't get any to participate (and it is true that I have only ever noted one mention of Megadeth in an acknowledgement section of a bands liner notes-the bands name escapes me-) but it would have added to the attraction of this disc. Having said that I must confess my second reason for the above question-some of these songs are amazing and yet these bands aren't being recognized!
The stand out track is track eight She-wolf covered by Abhorrent. If you thought the original was hard... this shreds!
There are lows to match the ... Read More:

to put it as simple as possible...

i have been listening to this CD since it came out and I've bought it in various formats more than 8 times. The times i've listened to this album are way beyond count!!this album IS the quintessence of thrash metal. Atmosphere, ferocity, production, musicianship, lyricism and treble to the MAX!!...it's got them all!!
as a teenager i have been a huge metallica fan...but all comparison FAILS when it comes to this particular gem!! it is by far in a league of its own!

whoever listens to pure metal music MUST own it.
whoever is looking for a place to start this IS it!

Avoid the remastered copies. Dave has done a good job with most of the albums but on this one he could not capture ... Read More:

Killing Is My Business and Business Is Good

Release Date December 01, 1999
iv noticed a lot of people complaning about the sound quality of this album. this simply adds to the charm. this is one of there best albums and my personal fave megadeth record

also iv noticed people commenting on "the mechanix" so hear is the real mechanix story

when dave was with metallica he wrote a song (music and lyrics) called mechanix and they played it at shows a recorded on the bay area thrashers live album. when they kicked old man dave out of metallica, metallica re-wrote the lyrics but kept the music. also if you listen "the four horsemen" there is a bridge in the middle of it that isnt included in mechanix and (on kill 'em all only) a classical guitar solo that they dont play when performing it live. dave simply re-recorded the ...
