Countdown to Extinction

by: Megadeth

Release Date July 06, 1992
I think this is probably Megadeth's best album. It is the perfect blend between underground thrash and commercial thrash/hard rock. Every track is full of mind-blowing riffs and great lyrics. Dave has obviously really put a lot of time and effort into making this whole album, espicially the lyrics, which are surprisingly catchy! Tracks:

'Skin O' My Teeth': Awesome start to the album. Perfect opening track that jumps right out at you. Great riff, awesome lyrics. Sets a tone for the whole album. 5/5

'Symphony Of Destruction': Everyone knows this track. One of Megadeth's best and everyone knows the words. It has to be sung along to. Amazing start to this track with an awesome riff. 5/5

'Architecture Of Agression': ... Read More:

Risk: Remastered & Expanded

by: Megadeth

Release Date August 09, 2004
I bought this album second hand solely because there was a 3 for £10 deal and I only had 2 CDs. I love Megadeth, and a lot of other bands of other genres too. After reading reviews absolutely slating this album I thought to myself, 'Surely it's not THAT bad.' Trust me, it is. Megadeth have tried (and failed) to make a pop record. I'm not really a fan of pop, but even if I was I really don't think I'd like this album at all.

I'm gonna listen to it again right now because I literally have not listened to it since my first listen (probably for a damn good reason).
Basically I will say this, if you can get it cheap (which you probably can, seeing as its pretty dire) you may as well get it anyway, because I did not believe myself how bad it ... Read More:

by: Megadeth

Release Date September 24, 2007
I am not a great megadeth fan, always regarding them as a band who have promised more than they have delivered-til now. This is a 100% dogs danlies live album. brilliantly played by a band on top form and nevers lets up from start to finish. The double live album has become a sad cliche and become nothing more than a greatest hits-live compilation.Get this on and turn it up mega-loud. BRILLIANT !!!!!!

The World Needs a Hero

by: Megadeth

Release Date May 14, 2001
This album is awesome in my opinion and it has some really heavy riffs. Great lyrics vocals and solos as usual by megadeth. Best songs are The World Needs A Hero, Burning Bridges, Recipe For Hate Warhorse, 1000 time goodbye & Dread And he Fugitive Mind. This is a great metal album by Megadeth. This album is really hard to find for some reason so i downloaded mine cause i couldnt find it anywhere if you can find it buy it it rocks

Capitol Punishment: The Megadeth Years

by: Megadeth

Release Date November 06, 2000
Simply put, this album sums up the majority of Megadeth's career - from the Peace Sells days to post-Risk days.
My one quibble with this album is the fact it has hardly any early material. Only two tracks from Rust in Peace?? Madness!
The tracks are as follows:
1. Kill the King (unreleased) A great opener to this album. Has a chainsaw riff and the chorus is really good.
2. Dread and the Fugitive Mind (unreleased) Starts slowly but gets better. I guess it deserves to be on this album.
3. Crush 'Em (Risk) The best track off the poorly received Risk.
4. Use the Man (Cryptic Writings) Ahh, the first classic track. I love this song!
5. Almost Honest (CW) Not my favourite of Cryptic Writings I must say.
6. Trust (CW) Another stone-cold classic. ... Read More:

Cryptic Writings

Release Date July 07, 1997
Megadeth rules! This album proved that they can mix metal with pop. There are many classic songs like "Trust", "She-Wolf", "Almost Honest", "Sin", and "Use the Man".

Killing Is My Business and Business Is Good

by: Megadeth

Release Date November 15, 1999
Killing is my business...and business is good is dave mustaine at his angriest. Mustaine splutters, shouts, growls and howls at the microphone to get his message through, and after listening to it, you have to say that it works well.

The most controversial song on this album is definately 'mechanix', whom metallica fans may recognise as a sped up and pissed off 'four horsemen'. Songs like 'mechanix', 'rattlehead' and 'killing is my business' are great examples of thrash metal at its rawest.

Overall, Killing is my business...and business is good is good for people who like thrash metal - fans of slayer will enjoy this - this is not the mellower (post-youthanasia era) megadeth's stuff.

Buy this and let it rip in your room!

Hidden Treasures

by: Megadeth

Release Date April 30, 2007
I aint a long term megadeth fan but i am a Megadeth fan, I'm 17 so I wouldnt know about this being a bonus disc or whatever. So i'm reviewing this as just another kick ass megadeth album. As some have had pointed out here is the bonus tracks are completely pointless and doesn't make this album any better. The album itself is absolutely awesome. Some of Megadeths best songs are on here like No More Mr Nice Guy(alice Cooper cover), Breakpoint, 99 Ways To Die And so on. This Megadeth the way we like 'em. Full of blistering solos awesome heavy riffs, great vocals and lyrics may not be super speed thrash metal like their classics rust in peace or peace sell but whos buying but it's still heavy metal and Megadeth. A must for any megadeth fan. PUSHING ME TO A BREAKPOINT!!!!!!!!

This record was the perfect follow up to Countdown To Extinction.
Another awsome blend of melody with heavy guitars and a really cool groove throughout, backed by superb bass and drums. This was the record along with Metallica's "Black" album that made me want to learn to play the guitar.
Particularly look out for Train Of Consequences, Addicted to Chaos and A Toute Le Monde.
If you like this you'll also love the follow up - Criptic Writings

Rude Awakening: Live

by: Megadeth

Release Date March 18, 2002
Megadeth were never a simple band to follow; guitarists and drummers came and went faster than the proverbial sppedning bullet. It was, however, this fragmentory nature (fuelled by key man Mustaine's explosive nature and destructive behaviour) that was the root source for such benchmark thrash albums as 'Peace Sells' and 'Rust in Peace'. However, 'Countdown' in '92 marked the arrival of Nick Menza (drums) and Marty Freidman (guitar), who would both stick around for the next three albums. This new-found solidarity, combined with Mustaines neo-Christian attitudes after a drink-and-drugs near-death experience mellowed the band: musicianship was up, but fury and sheer weight of noise was down. Megadeth started making it big on Mid-way radio but we disconcerning Rattleheads couldn't help but feel short-changed: ... Read More:
