The Doctor Who music just keeps getting better and better. The album begins with the track 'All The Strange, Strange Creatures', an overall theme for the entire series. It's very fun to listen to. There are so many good tracks on this album, it's hard to pick a few and write about them. 'The Carrionites Swarm', 'Boe', 'Yana', 'Martha's Quest' and 'This Is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home' are the ones that stand out for me. They are epic and profound, and very addictive. A previous reviewer complained that the song 'My Angel Put The Devil In Me' (for the episode Daleks Of Manhattan') was sung by a different woman to the one who sung it in the actual episode, but I prefer the album version. ... The Most Relaxing Classical Album in the World...Ever!

While there are some lovely pieces of music on these CDs they don't match the titles. When I bought this 2-set CD I thought that maybe I had received Vol2. or something by mistake as none of the tracks match the information on the CD insert. I decided to check by listening to the samples here on Amazon & discovered that they too are incorrect. Just to ensure I wasn't going mad I found the CD set on a US website and listened to their samples & they were correct!!! I wish someone could explain.

I was lucky enough to be at the launch of Translucence at the Tate Britain. It was breath-taking. Hearing it once - from the counter tenor's gut-wrenching Sebastiane to the three a cappella female voices intertwined in Translucence was all I needed to become convinced of Donna's integrity and sheer emotion behind her writing.

Its vocal music in its purest, truest form. Donna doesn't shy away from controversial subject matter or language but has matched Jarman's poetry with music so intimate and timeless I have listened to it more than thirty times and been stopped in my tracks by the same moments every time.
