This is stripped down Metric at their finest. This effort really showcases Emily's dynamic and disarming vocals, which are as sincere and beautiful as ever. I'm listening to this for the first time today and I can't believe how good it is.
Just bought it because of Monster Hospital, but there are some real surprises on the rest of the album. Really intelligent guitar work, reminds me of Graham Coxon. Brilliant.

Although the whole of this album is wonderful, and I like every song apart from 'On a slow night', I am surprised that so far everyone has failed to mention what I think is undoubtedly one of Metric's best songs - 'Hustle Rose'. Maybe it's just my taste in music, but this song sounds absolutely amazing when turned up loud on your mp3 and you can just relax and let it carry you away.
Other favourites include 'Calculation Theme', 'Succexy' and 'The List'.
If you have Metric's latest release, 'Live it Out', buy this immediately, if not, buy it anyway!
