Greatest Hits 1985-1995

I own the original MB-Greatest Hits 85-95, and noticed Amazon's tracklist was wrong, there are 17 songs on this CD,

14 = I Promise You
15 = I Found Someone

but as for a review, then this is the best CD to start your Michael Bolton Collection with, but what you will find with this artist is the catch 22 with verious artist music, after a few CD's, then you got nearly all the songs, and only buying albums for 1 or 2 new songs, which while it is only a couple of pound then it is worth getting, but not at full rrp.

Soul Provider

At the end of the 80's came "Sould Provider", and all the girls whent crazy about this long curly haired R&B singer. Today his legend lives on, and is a saying about what a real mans record collection should not contain. This is ofcourse not totaly fair, coz even thoug he became a womans artist, he is still a serious singer with a great voice. The album contains many hits, and hopefully he will earn his respect with the male record collector with this re-release.

Over the last 20 years Michael Bolton has written for some of the finest (Cher, Barbara Striesand, Kiss, The Pointer Sisters, Kenny Rogers), so it is fitting that on his latest release; the first for his own label (Passion Studios), Michael Bolton interprets and makes his own, songs that were made classics by legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles.

Unfortunately, today it does seem the norm for people to produce an album of standards and it is easy to do just that (Westlife, Michael Buble, Jamie Callum, Robbie Williams). However, the key is to add something different and give a fresh, just owned/sung feeling to a song that is, in some cases, 60 years old.

Time Love and Tenderness

OK, so maybe Michael Bolton isn't that fashionable, especially among teenagers, but hidden amongst his sometimes awful screeching, this album contains some great tunes. I was only nine when I bought this, but surprisingly, I still listen to it today. I'll try to give you a taster of each track: 'Love is a wonderful thing'- Possibly the pick of the bunch, great lyrics, and a really catchy tune. Did quite well as a single, incidentally. 'Time,love and tenderness'- Michael sings his heart out here, and the results are not too bad. Good, mellow verses, followed by an upbeat chorus. 'Missing you now'- Features Kenny G, and is probably the worst song (sorry Ken). After 2 or 3 plays, this song is so ANNOYING. 'Forever isn't long enough'- ... Read More:

Til the End of Forever

I bought this CD at Michael's concert in Brighton - the new tracks are excellent especially the title track - Til the end of Forever ! and the others on the CD are still as good as ever.

Hopefully more new music will be on the way !
