Wow, not a single reviewer rates it less than five stars.
As good as they may be, later albums sound contrived in comparison.
It's just fresher more 'alive' than his other stuff.
If you don't already have this, don't hesitate.

Michael Jackson is THE ultimate performer. Regardless of how you see him as a person, he is an electrical force to be reckoned with in his work. That man can MOVE!! No one can move like him, his voice is immediately recognisable, his style is stupendous. He has given us some memorable music and dance, and I for one am grateful for that. Who could ever forget Thriller, Billie Jean, and my own personal favourite, Man in the Mirror? This album contains tracks that can be found on previous works, but all together on one album? Yes please!! Its the ultimate album from the ultimate performer, and lets give him the credit he deserves for that. No one performs like Michael Jackson., and I'd still pay to see him. However, this album is the next best thing to a live performance, ... Read More:

I'm actually listening to this album as I write my review to get some inspiration! MJ's on the music industry cannot be acknowledged as anything else but massive! He's been in the public eye since the 1960's so there's no doubting his brilliance. His private life is another subject alltogether but, that aside, the man is a pop genius who has a huge influence in a variety of musical styles. I'm not a huge MJ fan but I am able to see the mastery of his songs and the impact they have had on his fans. "Number ones" is an 18 track compilation of his greatest hits and I quite agree with the album title...they are number ones - each song in it's own way has been brilliant! Overall, I love listening to this album because it's amazing how these songs still seem fresh and relevent ... Read More:

At the time of recording this album Michael Jackson was a very angry man, the Chandler case had been going on and other people in authority were trying their best to ruin him. This was the biggest selling black artist of all time and he was living in Neverland Ranch in a purely white community, people were jealous and wanted his musical career finished.
This album was Michael's answer to them.
The songs Scream, They don't care about us, Stranger in Moscow, This time around, D.S, Money, Childhood, Tabloid Junkie and 2bad all relate to Michael's life at that time, which is why i've given this album 5 stars, this isn't his best album by a long shot but it is still a fantastic and very personal album and the people who give this a low score should sit back with headphones ... In the same way that one becomes colder the further away from the sun travel, the quality of MJs CDs/LPs diminished the further away he departed from his best CD Off the Wall. As this is the CD after the great 1979 release, he still has something in his favor. By & large he was still blessed to be working with Quincy Jones & the under valued Rod Templeton. At this time he wasn't chasing the title of King of Pop, or following the latest trends. He was also using live instruments ( the lack of which, I feel, diluted his future CDs) Add to this base, the writing skills of Toto, the guitar skills of Eddie Van Halen, the vocal 'rap' of Vincent Price, and you have all the ingredients of a major, major hit.
This was the first LP (as it was then) that I ever purchased, and I still have ... Read More:

When you think about Michael Jacksons music, you are most likely to think Thriller, Bad....
Dangerous, released in 1991, is perhaps one of Jacksons most under-rated pieces of work. The music reeks of quality.
Whilst Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad can have a dated feel to them, Dangerous still sounds fresh, funky and straight out the '90s.
Highlights from the album include 'Will you be there?' A track laden with heaps of genuine emotion. You will love this song. Guaranteed.
'Who is it?' has a great beat and feel to it, sandwiched between the funky anti-racist statement track 'Black or White?' and 'Give in to me', which is awesomely intense.
I could go on and on praising songs from Dangerous because in all honesty they are all brilliant. Every one is single worthy, ... Read More:
