Pennybridge Pioneers

I first heard millencolin on one of epitaphs punkorama compilations, and after hearing Farewell My Hell on the latest edition, i decided to buy an album. I heard pennybridge pioneers was supposed to be their best album and after listening through once i wasn't exactly blown away. Now it's grown on me and although its hardly lyrical genius, its good upbeat pop punk as it should be. I'm not a big fan of the first track 'no cigar' unlike most people. Best tracks are Pepper and Hellman with good choruses and strong drum beats. If you like pop punk it is a good album, but it doesn't have a huge impact, with similar vocals throughout.

Home from Home

Millencolin, they started out with Same Old Tunes which was good then came Life On A Plate which was better, next For Monkeys, good but not their best! Penybridge Pioneers blew me away! Then i can't say what Home From Home has done because it's the best album they've ever produced and i look forward to their next one! It starts with Man or Mouse, before bringing back a bit of what they achieved on Life On A Plate with Fingers Crossed! Black Eye is one of the best on the album as is Kemp, Battery Check, Afghan and Greener Grass! Millencolin have achieved something here and it's a big something! Life on a Plate

Amazingly, this is the worst selling Millencolin album on Amazon. I have been a Millencolin fan for 5 years now and have to say that this is my favourite album of all time. This may be a strong statement to make, but you have to buy this album to believe it. It is amazingly original with a mixture of sounds and not a bad song on the album. I would recommend this album to anyone who has even slightly enjoyed a punkrock song in the past. I have owned this album for 4 years and even now sounds just as amazing as when I first bought it. You can play it again and again and it will touch you in just the same way each time. Anyone who isn't prepared to pay the small amount that Amazon is charging for this album needs their head examining

Kingwood

As other reviewers have pointed out, this is a good album with some fine songs, but has been totally spoilt for me by the production. At times it's difficult to pick out any instruments as they have been melded into a sort of electric fuzz. The only way I can really describe it is to say that it's the audio equivalent of looking through frosted glass and I found it really frustrating and disappointing. I wonder what a John Feldmann-produced version of this album would have been like. Better, I'm sure.

Melancholy Collection

Millencolin have been making catchy music for about 10 years now, and this is just a collection of early stuff, covers and b-sides! Its all still good though! Its possibly the worst album Millencolin have come out with, but its still, a good listen.

Pennybridge Pioneers [VINYL]

This album is a really good punk abm slightly let down however by one or two weak songstowards the end of the album. It is well written and well played out. There are some of the bet punk songs of recent years on here however in the brilliant 'No Cigar' and 'Fox'. Buy if you like bands such as Pennywise, No Use For a Name, mxpx and NOFX
