This album is an amazing piece of soul artwork. Millie Jackson's vocals and the orchestral arrangements are a delight to the ears. Muscle Shoals have a lot to answer for when it comes to sending R&B music lovers into rapture. Just consider another outstanding genius (Bobby Womack) and his association with Muscle Shoals. I was truley blessed in being able to witness this album in its original era as a teenager. Almost every track on this album is sensual, deep and meaningful. When I play this album in my own privacy it is like recieving a musical massage. Musicians and vocalist who bring us such pleasures such as this album deserve great rewards. True R&B lovers please buy this album, you will guard it with your life.

Feelin' Bitchy

Millie Jackson's Caught Up duo, had brought her fame and fortune and she revisited the concept a couple of years later. The tracks here are less of a story though, so it's more of a collection of tracks on a theme than a true concept.

There are, however, some standout tracks with Millie in her usual fiery form on tracks like "You Created a Monster" and "Angel In Your Arms". There are more reflective tracks, on Feelin' Like A Woman" Millie quietly celebrates her independance, while "Back In Love By Monday" stands comparison with anything she has ever done.

Whilst , personally, I prefer the previous 2 albums, this remains a testament to a Soul songstress at the top of her game, and rightly gets a reissue, with 3 alternative takes ... Read More:

I first heard this on Capital radio years ago, they used to play an uninterrupted side of an (vinyl) album, this one links every song with a spoken dialogue which makes it sound as if Millie is telling you HER story. Play it late at night if you're feeling down or if your in love or recently split from the one you love, it enhances your mood whatever it is. A TRULY WONDERFUL ALBUM.

Caught Up: Remastered

I'm too old and too busy to listen to music properly as often as I used to these days as a rule, but this just got me. Had to sit down and listen to it all the way through, then listen all the way through again. Reminded me of the first time I saw the film Network recently - couldn't believe that a 70s period piece could seem so fresh and intelligent, whilst really evoking its era. Do yourself a favour and buy it.

Live and Uncensored/Live and Outrageous

This 2 disc set is made up of a double album from 1979 'Live & Uncensored' and a single album from 1982 'Live & Outrageous'. The titles say it all! If there had been 'Parental Advisory Lyrics' stickers back then, then these albums would have qualified. Having said that, they are quite tame compared to some of what you hear today.

The first album was recorded at a concert in Los Angeles, and for the second, Millie was on home soil in Atlanta Georgia (she was born in Augusta).
