I am heavily into rap and i have many of the classic artist albums such as dr dre, noop dogg, nwa, eazy e, tupac and the rest, im mainly into mainstream but ive gone down to the outside now. This album is absoutely stunning, there are around 10 tracks i could listen to over and over again. Forget 50 cent, forget even eminem! This is the real stuff and possibly one of the best albums ever made in any music genre.
Release Date March 06, 2000
This album is great far better than there newer albums. I don't know why someone would give it 1 star this this album represents quality production and rhymes. They don't make it like they used to.
Release Date December 13, 2004
After hearing albums like the Infamous and Hell On Earth, I was excited about hearing Infamy, without the thought that M-O-B-B would ever cross over. I was wrong. The beats carry the content of the songs, the rhymes are standard and much like the crap that is being released under the label of hip-hop nowadays. The hooks are what each song is sold on, the pop sounding choruses or meaningless "war" lyrics that just come across as annoying. There are a few bearable tracks but no where near enough for this album to redeem itself. I was deeply disappointed with this album, Murda Muzik was not up to par with infamous and Hell On Earth, but Infamy really was the end for Mobb Deep. (Amerikaz Nightmare confirms that statement)

I bought this album about a year back, gave it a couple of spins and then just left it to look pretty on my shelf among with the many other Hip-Hop CD's I own.
Recently after listening to to more previous albums by Mobb Deep and being a little disapointed with them due to them being extremely slow,i realised what a quality album this one was. The album overall has a complete mix of beats to it. It ranges from mellow tunes such as the wicked 'Genesis' and the oustanding 'Diamonds' thru to 'Wat U Rep?' and 'HNIC' wich are a lot more head boppin and healthy for your sound system. The real quality lies with the featuring artists such as outstanding N.O.R.E. and the up comming Bars & Hooks, who blind you with some dirty rhymes ... Read More:

Good album, you have to be a Mobb Deep fan. There a a couple of stomers that set the album alight, the rest of the songs are middle of the range.
It sounds strange, but Mobb Deep are a very Amercian sounding rap group. And rural at that. Their style is unique and they have been around a while, collaborating with big stars like Nas.
This is a tight album if your a fan, but I far prefer Hell on Earth to this one.

This is an 'okay' album. The beats and rapping are consistently 'okay'. There's a very nice soul/hip-hop crossover track with Mary J Blige towards the end, but it's in the Beezer Homes League of Mobb Deep tracks with female vocals compared to, say, 'Temperature's Rising', which would be like Man Utd on top of the Premiership.
Apparently 50 Cent features on 5 or 6 tracks on this album...I didn't realise. I am totally incapable of identifying his voice. Everyone's voice except for Havoc's seems to blend into one on this album, making some kind of Voltron style G Unit omni-rapper - which is nowhere near as exciting as that description makes it sound.
Overall: Mobb Deep are legends and everyone loves them for their first 3 albums, ... Read More:

This is not the typical mobb sound we might be familiar with after hearing Murda Muzik, Hell on Earth, etc, it's a lot more raw..but you'll recognise the gritty beats straight away.
Obviously this was a few years ago now and you can hear that in the music..but I think this album has got to be better than anything else they have done since... even better than The Infamous.. which is saying a lot!
If you like your old school more funky hip hop this is worth buying.
