There are some great tracks here and if you haven't already got much of the Moby back catalogue you may well want to buy this but as a body of work it doesn't really seem to gel. I found the production dissapointing in that most tracks 'fade out' and (on my copy at least) the penultimate track just stops abruptly with an unnerving clunk! Love Moby, don't love this album quite as much!

We Are All Made of Stars [12" VINYL]

CD2 is subtitled 'Remixes', althought the 1st track, a downtempo version of We Are All Made Of Stars, is not sufficiently different enough to justify the title. However, track 2, DJ Tiesto's full vocal remix, picks up the pace and turns the song into a club thumper, while still holding on to Moby's guitar riff as the driving theme throught the track. Track 3, the dub mix by Timo Maas, starts of fairly quiet and sedate, before he brings in the drums and an acid sound that would have been at home in 1987. By the time he puts the vocals through a vocoder, the track sounds like it may well be from another planet, certainly different from the one Moby comes from. Moby keeps the layers and the moods, but the constant percussion (it's good) keep it from being anything but relaxing. This represents a good foreshadowing of what moby was to produce.
