Really great tunes here! For a contemporary comparison I recommend Nick Worrall. His album is FREE to download as well.
Release Date January 30, 1995
This album is in my top ten of "must haves" and it challenges even The Beatles' best work. A veritable pot pourri of musical sytles, the collection of songs stand on their own as potential singles.
Pleasant Valley Sunday shines with all the optimism of 1960's summers thanks to that fantastic jangling guitar riff. A true classic. Love Is Only Sleeping and The Door Into Summer are beautiful examples of guitar pop, that inspired bands like The Smiths, The Stone Roses and Travis.
Throughout the album the mood changes from psychedlic (Daily Nightly), soulful (Words), country (What Am I Doing Hanging Round) to smoochy jazz (Don't Call On Me)!
The set closes with the insane Star Collector which tears along like ... Read More:

This album is taken from a concert tour undergone in early 1967,largely from Seattle, Oregon and Washington D.C. dates.Like many 60's "live" albums, there's a lot of pre-teen and early teen screaming, and everything comes out of one big massive amplifier at the side of the stage,(so not quite the technology bands have today). However, it's a good record of Monkeemania at it's height, and is well worth a listen, particularly for the Nesmith tunes and a really funky version of "Steppin' Stone" which was their finale/tour de force at that time

this album has some songs on that they did befor but re-recorded with a new twists its good not my favourite but i would recommend any monkees fan to buy it
Release Date December 12, 1994
Nice little album here, Containing the hits "Valleri" and "Daydream Believer", and other nice tracks like "Dream World" (Co-written by Davy Jones), "Topioca Tundra" (Written by Michael Nesmith), "The Poster" and "I'll Be Back Up on My Feet". However, I must admit that I don't like "Zor and Zam", which is a bit too silly for my taste, But then, it does have it's fans. The main problem with this album is that The Monkees only wrote about a 3rd of the songs on it, and Micky & Peter barely appear on the album at all. Still, As the title of this review says, an average Monkees album still beats the top 40 of today, and since most of the tracks here are good, This is certainly worth getting if you like the hits and want more.
