I went to see Mose some years back at the Pizza Express in London, He still performs there to this day and if you get chance is well worth seeing. I'd first heard about him as the pianist on the small group sessions led by Zoot Sims and Al Cohn, recorded around 1954, and realized even before I went to see him that he was featured on several of my albums.
His voice is somewhat in the style of Alan Price to my ears but when in a trio setting is a must to see and hear, if you get the chance then go. I was lucky enough to obtain his autograph.

Being a long time fan of Mose Allison and possessing several of his albums on vinyl I eventually decided to upgrade to CD format. I purchased this CD along with Swinging Machine and Autumn Song. Although already having most of the tracks it was a pleasure to hear them without the crackling and hissing accumulated over many decades of listening. As an introduction to the unique blues/jazz laid back style of Mose Allison, in both his piano playing and singing, this album is highly recommended. After listening to this you will be ready to sample his other works. Highly recommended!

Being a long time fan of Mose Allison and possessing several of his albums on vinyl I eventually decided to upgrade to CD format. I purchased this CD along with Swinging Machine and Autumn Song.
