It's a shame this cd has had bad reviews from other people. It seems that some people who bought this were fans of mr scruff, and not big fans of dub/ reggae. If you like dub/ reggae you WILL like this. This is a really good compilation compiled by a wicked dj (go and see him live if you haven't already done so). The first few tracks are sort of old roots/ ska, then theres some really good new dub. Towards the end theres some ragga and drum and bassy stuff. I highly recomend this to any fans of dub/ reggae and to anyone with an open mind. You SHOULD NOT be dissapointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As anyone who's heard Mr Scruff on two turntables will know, he is no stranger to great wobbly basslines spliced together with a plethora of different beats. So who better to lovingly compile a retrospective of rare-ish reggae-tinged dance music ranging from rocksteady to ragga, via mid-70s disco dub? Starting with some James Brown-fuelled bizniz from the Wailers, Mr Scruff takes us on a rootsical journey through 70s reggae, gradually upping the tempo until it all goes strictly dancehall care of Reggie Stepper and then Ninjaman's irresistably-funky 'Zig it up'. Buy this record, and enjoy your own Scruff-style soundclash from the comfort of your own armchair (if you can stay in it!).
