Butterflies and Hurricanes

Probably one of the best singles Muse has ever produced, Butterflies and Hurricanes is a truly epic song, with this version containing superb guitar playing instead of brilliant piano playing (but the virtousic piano solo has still been kept in. Wahey!), spine tingling vocals, bass tapping and fingerstyle that will make you drop your bottom jaw with awe, and breakneck drumming. Truly fantastic! The live Radio 2 acoustic version of Sing For Absolution is actually really good as an acoustic song, giving it a different feel to the album version. The best bit? The fact that you get some software on the single that allows you to mix Butterflies and Hurricanes to whatever you want, be it less guitar and more piano. The options are endless! 5 out of ... Cave [CD 2]

This is most definitely the best song off Muse's debut 'Showbiz' -the music is hard and melodic and the lyrics are excellent too. Obviously there is comparisons between Muse and Radiohead as Muse sound quite a bit like Pablo Honey/The Bends-era Radiohead. But Muse are a good band in their own right who can produce top quality songs like 'Cave' and other gems from the album like 'Sunburn', 'Uno' and 'Muscle Museum'. Although the album 'Showbiz' is a little inconsistent and flawed, its only their debut and from the evidence of 'Cave', they certainly have the ability to improve greatly.

This is not DVD-Audio as it says in the title, only a DVD of the video with a audio only option. While it is a great video and worth the money, don't expect this to be a high quality surround sound recording or anything like that.

Muscle Museum [CD 1]

Muse are my all time favorite band. They've done wonderful things that have had an enormous impact on my life and how I perceive music. They made me want to listen and even more, to make music, after doing music.

This single is really hard to get your hands on and it's really worth buying. It took me 6 months to find in a shop here in France. The songs on it are great:
The Muscle Museum US-Mix isn't that different from the original, only has a different ending and weirder bass line.
The Agitated Live Version really rocks, that song is so great and even better live!
The Sunburn Remix is weird but hearable and quite researched.
