This is not their best album, worth listening to, definitely. I would urge you to buy it but if it's a choice of different muse albums go for Black Holes and Revelations. Very good lyrics and the songwriting is upto scratch as usual. Still very good.

Well, this song is obviously fantastic. It's by Muse after all. The chorus is nice and mean, but I think it's pretty funny. They have the amazing ability to shock me when I least expect it. The fairly normal chorus of 'I don't want you and I never will' made me laugh, but as it approached the end, he came out with 'I don't love you and I never will', this shouldn't matter, but it makes me feel like there's more to the song than I at first thought, and it seems truly cruel. Excellent bass, catchy riff, pounding drums and stabbing vocals. Shouldn't be missed by anyone.

Just check out the clean guzzling bass line on Muscle Museum. The song sets up the perfect suburbian distopia and turns into nothing short of the perfect pop rock single when Matt's voice melts into a suspended guitar solo.
Elsewhere theres the title track Showbiz, an epic of enclosing tension and Cave a similar epic flooding with teenage anxt.
The back end of this record reveals more wonderfully rounded heavy yet alternative rock songs. The lyrics are spot on all the way through especially in Escape and Overdue.
Theres a lush little acoustic ballad too in Unintended, so good they still sing it on tour.
This is where Muse started off, with a CD just as good as all the others, sure the songs might ... Read More:

I bought this CD-Single on hearing that the B-Side steals the show, and I have to agree. It might be that I've heard Hysteria many a time, and that is by no means a bad thing! Hysteria is a hard song to beat lyrically, musically, and any other thing-ly there may be under the sun. But Eternally Missed is splendid, it starts in typical Muse fashion with a rather weird intro, a music-box being cranked up, and with the Whammy effect on guitar, the pitch is at the same as a music box would be. And the bass riff, oh the bass riff! Kicks Hysteria flying. The powerful chorus gradually builds up, and like Darkshines, solos appear after each chorus with the final one leading into the last chorus perfectly matched by Matt Bellamy's soaring vocals. If you bought ... Read More:

"i'll do it on my own" thats what the lead singer Matt bellamy screams out to us ! and he's right he will do it by himself, if hes talking about stardom! muscle museum is probably muse's strongest song and its initial release helped them gain much needed attention for such a new and up coming band. Now with there live reputation and re-release (after a year) of this hit single coming on october 2nd 2000. Lets see if this epic of a song is finally recognized !

This song truly does live up to its name as its is one of if not the best songs I've ever heard, I cannot Comprehend why this song wasn't A big hit. I think if it was in an advert or a film etc it would be a big hit. When I first heard it I was convinced it would be up there with songs like "Stairway to heaven" "yesterday" and "Imagine" its a truly wonderful piece of modern music, obviously (because of the lyrics and the emotion in the voice of the singer) written by somebody who has been in love before. Both the lyrics and bye the fantastic melody at the beginning and end, This song reminds me of a time when I was in love, its that good both lyrically and musically.

Though not the best song from the album Absolution, Time Is Running Out DVD is nice to have if your a Muse fan like myself, as it's nice to watch the band performing in this bizzare video. Also it's nice to see the behind the scenes stuff, though this footage is very short and kind of pointless but it's all entertaining and good to have in your collection.
