The Very Best of Nazareth

Nazareth like ther bands before Uriah Heep etc only found themselves the butt of many jokes by the UK press over so many comparisons with other legendary acts before they hit the scene but where warmly appreciated in the US and rest of Europe but this decent best of highlights the emotive tones in Dan McCafferty alcohol nicotened soaked vocals which swings from the rawk to the sensitive as highlighted on bad bad boy and love hurts combined with the effortless guitarsmanship from Jimmy Murrison, steady basslines from Pete Agnew and the effective drumming from the late sweet keeps the band in check which is no surprise they had celebrity fans in Axl Rose who covered hair of the dog for the patchy spaghetti incident album.

After having this CD for a couple months now I can truely say it is one of my Favorite Nazareth efforts. It rocks hard, some great mellow stuff and about track 3...The review about Liar on the American Amazon site by one meathead in particular proved how about 25% of us Americans have completely ignored the last 7 years of absolutely bad behavior and outright treason committed by that common criminal in The White House and his pals as they pillage and rape the treasury stuffing offshore bank accounts under the guise of some sort of religious belief that they are fulfilling Biblical prophesy. Hair of the Dog: Remastered & Expanded

This album in my opinion is the best album from this great rock band.I have 14 Nazareth cds in my collection and while there all great and different Hair Of The Dog was the bench mark album from them.Every track is fantastic and the album rocks along at a tremendous pace.The remastering gives excellent sound quality and has been very well done.you must play this cd loud and just listen it will blow you away.A must buy for any music lover who likes to here good heavy rock being played by a great band.Highly recommend this album;

Bad Bad Boys - The Best of Nazareth

Got this for £3 at Woolies. Wot a bargain. Cd versions of my old cassette and LPs. Ok some of the later stuff is dated now, but the classic Nazareth singles from the 70's are all here in fine fettle. These tracks have been released so many times by different labels that you could easily buy 4 or 5 best of's, and get pretty much all of these tracks. I doubt if Nazareth get anything from these CD's but this is a cheaper way of getting the essential tunes than shelling out on the remastered and expanded versions of the old albums. Definitely value for money.

agree with pikie1977 but this is album is one of their best because of that experimentation and diversity it should also be noted that guns n roses ripped of part of the guitar solo from patience of sunshine and that the intro to shanghai'd in shanghai sounds a lot like David Lee Roths yankee rose, actually guns n roses are what nazareth would have sounded like if they had came from America ;-)

It's a Rocker! this cd will not dissapoint Naz fans, albeit typical eighties production, slightly electronic sound on the drums and distant vocals, but all in all a great rock and melodic cd

One of the first record i bought back when i was 12 years old was a Nazareth album called Hair of the Dog (the title song is on this album)and the cover just blew me away. This introduction to heavy metal gave me nightmares for years. Anyway this greatest hits give you a introduction to a band with an old Everly Brothers and Roy Orbison song called Love Hurts(also on this album)on their resyme. Its the biggest hit on the norwegian hit list ever. Belive it or not. It was 60 weeks on the list. It reached number 8 in USA, but it never reached the list in UK. My favorite track on this album is Razamanaz. Nazareth is still touring, and Dan Mc Cafferty still sings. Back in the 70 this was what we called
Heavy Metal, and we can hear the vocal, and the riffs on the guitar ... Read More:
