by: The Neon Philharmonic
Release Date October 21, 1994
I first heard Neon Philharmonic's 'Morning Girl' as a Tony Blackburn record of the week in 1968 whilst doing a paper round and fell in love with it because it was so unusual. The combination of 'pop' and strings works well, the orchestra can even play out of tune, in tune. Listen to Morning Girl and Brilliant Colors for examples of this. You will not have heard of many of the songs on this except, maybe 'Heighdy-Ho Princess' which was a minor hit for Sacha Distel in the early 70s. All-in-all a good retro album. I enjoyed it anyway!
