I bought this CD expecting great things but I have to say having given it several listens now, I cannot see what the hype was about. Its pleasant enough, and there is some nice acoustic playing, but its just not special in any way. There are considerably better albums out there that deserve the publicity that this one has had.

Newton has a remarkable talent. I saw him supporting Paolo Nutini and he blew me away - he's very funny and articulate in front of a live audience too. Not sure about the whole Spongebob thing (although it's done entirely tongue in cheek) but he's like all the best bits of Jack Johnson, Damian Rice, James Blunt and some local unsigned talent down your local pub all rolled into one. He's destined for great things - and rightly so...

U.F.O. EP

Look out for this young talent. Newton is amazingly skilled with a guitar at his fingertips. Thinks Ben Harper, mixed with John Butler, with some of his own funkiness thrown in for good measure.
Exceptional stuff, and his live shows are hilarious. He's a real talent and will be the breakthrough artist of 2007/08. You wait and see.
