This is a must-have for any Nickelback fans who have been disappointed with their latest 'All the Right Reasons' but love the other stuff. It takes the band back to their roots and uncovers a different side of their musical abilities.

I bought this album having already owned Silver Side Up and Long Road for a while. It surprised me at first - it is hugely different to anything else they've done, with a raw, grungey sound and vocals that sound like Chad didn't really know what he was doing. The songs seemed rather disjointed and improvised at first, but after a few listens I saw the intricate quality of the album. All the Right Reasons: Special Edition/+DVD

This is my first foray into Nickelback, on recommendation from my son. The more I listen to this album, the more I like it, and having the DVD was a real bonus - the videos really bring the tracks alive.
There isn't a bad track on the album, they are all good, but I probably listen to Photograph and Rockstar the most.
Nickelback really know how to work a crowd, and show great appreciation of their fans (unlike some bands). Their music has a real 'feelgood' factor to it, and they sing about things that you can easily relate to.
The main thing is - it's FUN. Play it with friends or on your own, but play it LOUD!
Definitely recommended, whether you're 18 (like my son) or 50 (like me). This is one of the very few albums that ... Read More:

With Nickelback in the charts at the moment with their number 3 single Rockstar, many people that like rock will have heard of them. However, the album- The long road is completely different, the first track, Flat on the floor is extremely fast paced and much more intense than some of their later singles (How you remind me and Rockstar).

This album is more heavy rock and grunge than other things in the charts at the moment. This is great if you would like rock to take over the charts once again. Warning! This is not a ¡¥feel good¡¦ album- it contains subjects of dark matter. E.g.

This is the best dvd i have. It shows the talent that Nickelback share with some amazing backstage footage. The Cd is brilliant too and while the dvd shows the raw talent the cd has a wide variety of music to suit any mood!!!
Chad Kroeger is an amazing artist and his work is best portrayed in the DVD and the SSU cd...

Someday

The first song I heard of Nickelback's was 'far away' which I thought was brilliant and they don't let down here either. The vocals of Chad Kroeger work perfectly for this song, it has so much pain, love and the fast rhythm (trademark guitar etc) kinda works for it. Before you know it the song has ended. I gave it four stars though because in my head I can't stop comparing it with 'Far Away' and I know how stupid I'm sounding. I just prefer 'Far Away' because of its message appears more hopeful whereas this one talks about difficulties in relationships and barriers two people can face in love. Definitely one to listen to though along with their other songs especially 'Hero' and 'Far Away!'
