Quite simply the best peice of music to exist today. Each and every song is an epic and will leave you listening to it over and over again. Cobains voice is powerful throughout the album and for me its hard to pick out a favourite song but it will have to be "Drain You". If you like music and havent heard this album yet, then you must. it was the beginning of a passion for rock music for me and it still gets played very loudly on my hi-fi.

This album was a revelation when I first heard it a couple of years after Cobain's death. For the most part I hadn't connected with Nirvana's grungier sound. The Unplugged format provides a sparse and paired back sound, releasing the raw power and passion of Cobain's voice. Favorite's are Something In the Way, Dumb, On a Plain and most especially the cover of the Meat Puppets Plateau. As others have mentioned the closing cover of Leadbelly's Where Did You Sleep Last Night is remarkable in its intensity.
Unlike many other live albums the post production has left all the chat and banter between Cobain and the band in the mix; this allows the listener to feel part of a very special concert. In conclusion you don't have to be a ... Read More:

Before I saw this DVD concert, Nirvana was just a name for me. I knew about Kurt Cobain, I knew that a few of their members later started Foo Fighters, but that was all.
But now I`ve seen! :) And that was all it took to really understand the legend-status of this man. They played lots of covers that night, but whatever they`re playing, Kurts outstanding voice and ability to express emotions through music blew me away. His versions of Meatball Puppets` songs; lake of fire and plateau are a lot better than the original versions. This performance, which took place less than five months before Kurt died, has become legendary, and everyone who likes Nirvana just a little bit should definitely own this DVD!

Believe it or not I'm listening NIRVANA-"Incesticide" right now...
As most of the fans (old and new,all-together) already knows this album came after "Nevermind" and before "In Utero". It was something Geffen used to get some $$$ before the next album! But anyway,it was a really good album.
I seen a review of some guy from U.K. and I could not believe what I was reading! This guys favorite songs are:Sliver,Molly's lips, Son of a gun and Aneurysm-that's O.K. But(I think two of five songs aren't Nirvana's)-That is O.K. to.
This was really bad:
"Dive"-the song with the best chorus and vocals on the album-The U.K. guy say:"boring..." !?!
"Stain"-the song that everybody i know likes the most;I think Stain got the strongest main riff that goes ... Read More:

Eight years after Cobain's death, Kris Noveselic, David Grohl, and Courtney Love finally mange come to some sort of agreement and release NIRVANA, which is a greatest hits compilation. The biggest news about NIRVANA is its inclusion of "You Know You're Right," which is the last studio song Nirvana recorded. This is an excellent song, though why they open the record with it is beyond me. It should have been at the end, because the rest of NIRVANA is sequenced chronologically.
The problem with NIRVANA is, with only having three albums and a large number of b-sides to draw from, it still misses the boat. Courtney Love made it pretty obvious she wanted a hit album like The Beatles' ONE record. The Beatles had a very large number of hit singles. Recording for seven years, ... Read More:

I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect after reading some of the reviews above. Yeah, its not super digitally remastered quality but I'm happy about that as its early stuff from nigh on 20 years ago. If I'd been lucky enough to be there then this is how it would have sounded. Its great to hear how the sound evolved through the years, it also shows that great music doesn't have to be *perfect* it just has to have feeling and hit the spot. Girls Aloud and all that manufactured shite is clearly produced and refined to a far greater degree but you just know that the artists are just going through the motions. To be honest even if it had turned out to be total crap I'd not have cared, I've had many a ropey pint and they all cost more than £2 these days anyway. I'm very tempted ... Read More:

For any Nirvana fan, this collection is a must have. It has plenty of rare and unreleased recordings, including demos and rare live tracks, it also has some fascinating videos. It's quite simply amazing, if you're a Nirvana fan you really have to get this! The packaging and liner notes and photos are fantastic too.

This is my favourite nirvana album, I first heard it when I was 11, I'm now 27! I had previously heard Nevermind and fell in love with Lithium, so I had to discover their earlier work. As often is the case I love the earlier albums most, they seem to be more honest, and with Bleach, Nirvana were at their rawest and grungiest.
This album is raw and aggressive, but also catchy and makes you wanna get up and go mad! No one track really stands out as the whole album flows well, mixing pop/rock (About a girl/Negative creep) with slow grungier tracks (paper cuts/sifting). 5/5

This album is very poor for what it could of been. This is basically a load of live tracks from different shows spanning 5 years. Many of the venues and dates from which the tracks suposedly orignate from are wrong!
another major problem with this record is that because its different recordings, the passion and consistancy thats prssent in most nirvana shows is lost.
On the otherhand the tracks are not that bad seperately and are a good mix of nirvanas best songs. This should of been the track listing for there greatest hits. Hopefully a full live recording will be released.
if you want to check out good live nirvana then listen to there unplugged album
