I have to admit that I didn't recognise any of these when I looked at the track titles - apart from Don't Speak! However, when I listened to the album I found that I knew a lot of the tracks but just didn't link them with the group or song titles!
I would never have said that I was a No Doubt fan - something that has, however, changed since listening to this album. It is wonderful and gives a newcomer to or a real fan of the group's music the best of their tracks. Let's face it - the singles artists release into the charts are usually the pick of their work and this album is made up of No Doubt's single releases from 1992-2003. The album could easily have been called their greatest hits and leaves me in No Doubt that it is worth ... Read More:

Man, this is a bad album. Unless you like reggae or ska of course, in which case it's fine. But if you're looking to buy this as a back catalogue of Gwen Stefani, then please don't, it really isn't very listenable.
Release Date August 25, 2003
I've been a fan of Gwen Stefani and her band for about three years and this is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Most songs on it are catchy and my particular favourites are Rock Steady, Underneath It All, Hey Baby, Don't Let Me Down, Hella Good, Running and Platinum Blonde Life. Start the Fire and Waiting Room are okay while In My Head has cool and catchy lyrics. Also listen out for the lead singer's name towards the end of track 10. I also like the rhyming in Making Out, although it sounds a bit weird. The production of this album is brilliant and I would reccommend it to anyone who likes pop and rock mixed with a bit of reggae (Underneath It All) and dancehall (Hey Baby).
The best songs on Tragic Kingdom were Don't Speak, Just a Girl and Sunday Morning. On Return of Saturn at least half the Songs are as good as any of those three; Suspension without Suspense is better than Don't Speak, Ex-Girlfriend is better than Just a Girl, and Bathwater is better than Sunday Morning. Then you have New, Comforting Lie, Dark Blue, Artificial Sweetner, Too Late, Simple Kind of Life, Magics in the Makeup - all of which are just as good as anything on TK.
Simply based on the number of 'classic' songs, this album is The Daddy. I recently made a compilation CD of the best of ND (and I have everything they've ever released) - 10 out of 19 songs were from this album.
Release Date March 20, 1999
Every fan of No Doubt must own this album. Ok, so it's different to their more well known stuff, but it's equally good, if not, in some cases, better.
The intro - BND - is short but still amazing
Let's Get Back - Probably my favourite song from the album, great, catchy, fun tune.
Ache - A fun, lively song, full of surprises
Get on the ball - Repetitive, but that's not necesarilly a bad thing, another great song
Move on - not one of my favourites, a bit different to the others, but definitely not bad!
Sad for Me - I love this song, quite short but really simple and beautiful
Doormat - Another great, upbeat song
Big City Train - Again, what can I say aprt from that it's really ... Read More:

This is No Doubt at a very musically strong point in their career. Their original ska-punk influences from bands such as The Specials are clearly evident here but in a much more refined and, for want of a better word, credible way in comparison to the band's self-titled debut. There's a real sense of musical experimentation, the likes of which No Doubt didn't return to until 2001's Rock Steady. The album is very upbeat, beginning with the fantastic 'Open the Gate'. The highlights of this album include 'Total Hate '95' (undoubtedly the best song on the album) which is raucous ska punk genius, and 'Squeal' an unashamedly bouncy, loud track. Overall, the album is really hard not to like, it's full of life and is extremely cheerful, sweet and sunny. It's a perfect summer ... Read More:

This CD is essentially a CD of three parts - the first half (tracks 1 to 9) are b-sides and out-takes from the Return of Saturn album, 10-14 a collection of other bits-n-bobs from throughout the years, and tracks 15-17 are a disappointing collection of remixes.
This odd bunching together of three different groups of songs leads to a somewhat disjointed collection, but there are so many great songs here that it still merits a five-star rating. The tracks from the RoS sessions show quite how much talent was streaming out of the band during that era. There are some great fun fast numbers like "Under Construction", "Big Distraction" and "Full Circle", alongside some slower material ("Beauty Contest", "Cellophane Boy"). "Leftovers" is one of the most sublimely wonderful ... Read More:

Simple Kind of Life is the type of song I have looked for all my life; it allways cheers me up no matter what! It is nothing at all like Ex-girlfriend but a very calm song. It expresses how even the simplest of things can turn out to be complicated. Most songs, after repeted playing tend to bore me but I think that the reason Simple Kind of Life hasn't is because it relates to real life so well. I think some lines show how the singer is trying to convince herself of things, such as:"I always thought I'd be a mom, sometimes I wish for a mistake, the longer that I wait the more selfish that I get,you seem like you'd be a good dad." At the very begining there is a very good guitar bit which I really like and has even inspired me to play the guitar. Everytime I hear Simple ... Read More:
