Just when i was starting to lose intrest in hardcore i got this and it totally reafirmed my faith in the genre.

Nodes of Ranvier haven't really got much attention latley, which is probably why they side-stepped the general watering down of metalcore made a truly awesome album. Countless bands are now combines sheer heaviness with some soaring guitar melodies but nodes manage to stay ahead of the pack as their heavy is ALOT heavier then most (check out song 6) and it doesn't sound contrived at all. a real sense of passion and gut wrenching emotion just bleeds from all the songs. theres heavy Zao influences and good variety of full on metal riffs, melodic leads and of course plenty of necksnapping breadowns

The Years to Come

I bought this album on the strenth of the last - the self titled "Nodes Of Ranvier" Album back in 2002. I was really impressed by the level of detail and power that they managed to put into their songs. Nodes were a band who in the world of hardcore sounded really different from the rest and I really could see them going somewhere. This album is the complete opposite, same-same type hardcore stylings, nothing special at all. Don't buy this album. I'm not saying that because its really bad which it isn't but I fear it will ruin your image of a band that were by far several cuts above the rest.
