Im 13 years old and im usually into rockish type music but after hearing one Nouvelle Vague song i fell in love with them. I heard the cover of "Ever fall in love" (first sung by the buzzcocks) on tv and i thought it was great so i decided to buy their newest album. The re sings are amazing and the easy flowing mood is great when your trying to relax. I think that anybody could enjoy this album and the great voice of the Nouvelle Vague singers. The instuments are played fantastically and ever though i paid more on the high street than i could have on amazon i feel that it was well worth my money. Even the shops clerks seemed enthusiastic with my choice and recommended other songs and albums by Nouvelle Vague which now i also love. Nouvelle Vague ... Read More:

The idea of taking a bunch of new wave eighties classics, spraying them with French pheramones and adding some Astrid Gilberto Bossa Nova, may not appeal to everyone's taste. But nouvelle vague's original interpretations of these songs are so cheeky, irreverent and irresistable, I defy anyone not to instantly fall in love with them.
They have created the perfect chill out party album.
My favourite tracks are Sister of Mercy's 'MARIAN' and Tuxedomoon's 'IN A MANNER OF SPEAKING'. I'd not heard the original of this song, but this astonishing version is just beauty incarnate.
On the last track, a cover of The Specials 'FRIDAY NIGHT SATURDAY MORNING', a sultry, French chanteuse with the voice of an angel sings 'but the chip shop isn't ... Read More:

Groundbreaking, controversial, euphoric ... discover a time when pop was neon plastic, men wore eyeliner and bands strived to put colour back into a bleak Thatcherized urban landscape. Uninhibited genius music.
Release Date February 05, 2007
Following on from compilations by Air, Four Tet, Zero 7 and others, the Late Night Tales series has persuaded French New Wave samba-stylists Nouvelle Vague to offer a glimpse into their home stereo play list. And if you're expecting an album of gentle Latin rhythms well you're in for a surprise. NV's entry in the LNT series is a mix of ambient, easy listening, indie and even a little spoken word.
We start with The Special AKA's reggae-lite Girlfriend before NV's own `exclusive cover version' of Come On Eileen (not their strongest work, it must be said). The music of The Pale Fountains (Unless) and 80's electro goths / short-lived Bahaus side-project Tones on Tail (Moment of Fear) both demand re-examination based on the strength of the tracks included ... Bande A Part represents a bit of a change from the group's first offering, Nouvelle Vague. Most of the songs one the first album were reasonably well-known 80s classics. Bande A Part explores some of the lesser known songs from the decade, interspersed with a few more popular hits like the Buzzcocks, Blondie, New Order and The Cramps. Unlike the first album where most of the songs were instantly recognisable, you'll probably find you need to listen to this one a few times, but its a definite grower.
The introduction of the squeezebox on their rendition of "Fade to Grey" by Visage reinforces the group's Frenchness - the beauty of Nouvelle Vague as a group is the delicacy of the French chanteuses' voices set against quite tough, masculine lyrics - I find that ... Read More:
