I once heard an interview where Noel Gallagher proclaimed that Oasis, in his opinion, were in the top 3 of bands of all time. On this, and several other albums worth of evidence, it is quite clear that they aren't anywhere near the top 3 of Manchester bands! to say this album is a bit 'samey' is a 'massive' understatement! I was going to re-name them status quoasis, but that would be a great insult to status quo! I would advise anyone to borrow this album before buying, I wish I had, i'd be £8.99 better off now!!

After the undoubted return to form that was Don't Believe The Truth, Oasis have taken a step backwards here. What made DBTT such a good record was that Noel had rediscovered his ability to make catchy pop songs and was rewarded with a couple of number one hits. The problem here is that, quite simply, there aren't any good tunes. Whereas Oasis are often criticised for being too derivative - and with good reason in some instances: Shakermaker/Coca-Cola song - here they are actually resorting to ripping off their own back catalogue. Shock Of The Lightning sounds like Rock 'N' Roll Star; I'm Outta Time is just Little James with better lyrics (and a frankly awful video). The terrible, whining singing on Get Off Your High Horse is awkward to listen to. The ... Read More:

This was the first oasis album i bought after having bought stop the clocks. This is one of the best albums i own and is probably the most listened to on my iPod. There isnt a song on here that i dont like, even the instumentals are entertaining. Definitly 5 out of 5

One of Oasis's finest as Liam finds supreme inspiration for this John Lennon tribute. Not a dry eye in the house from Beatles fans for this quite beautiful number. The verse is as catchy as you'd expect the chorus to be, the twists are nice and the music exemplary and there's even some vocal from the great man himself near the end. This is going to be a Juke-Box favourite over the Xmas period. Nice video too - if only Liam could be bothered to mime in time! (10/10).
Release Date March 06, 2000
A terrible lot of old rubbish. Possibly some of the worst music in the entire history of Western civilization. The vocals are nazalised and grating. The music is an unoriginal copy of the Beatles, but without the imagination of Lennon/McCartney. In fact, Oasis amount to little more than a tenth-rate Beatles tribute band. The lyrics are very badly written and lack poetic qualities. If there was any justice, every extant copy would be burnt along with the original mastertapes, to prevent anyone ever having to endure the torment of hearing this "music" ever again. I wish I could have given this 0 out of 5, or possibly minus infinity.

ANOTHER BORING SINGLE FROM THE LIVERPUDLIANS MOST BORING OF OLD FOGEYS. I THOUGHT THE LAST GIRLS ALOUD SINGLE REALLY ROCKED, BECAUSE THATS THE EFFECT ON MY BED WITH MY BOYFRIEND, WHO HAS SHORTER HAIR THAN LIAM BECAUSE HE IS A REGGAE REVIVALIST CALLED A SKINHEAD.

why is stand by me not on it? and many others are missing from the be here now album, there biggest and best selling album along with morning glory! and not only that but they include tracks instead from there b-side album! oasis were a great band in the 90s but since be here now in 1997 they have either been very average or very crap, i would advise buying there first three albums for the real greatest hits of oasis, because now they are just overated!

The Masterplan is a B-Sides compilation full of great songs. There is an argument,in fact, for saying this is one of the very best Oasis albums. Certainly one of the most consistent. I think it's fair to say that it's time for another one-containing D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman,Round Are Way,Carry Us All,Cigarettes In Hell,Let's All Make Believe,etc...

Heathen Chemistry is probably Oasis' worst album. But that doesn't mean it's bad.
Many tracks are very average by Oasis standard, such as All In The Mind, Force of Nature, Better Man and Hung In A Bad Place. However, saying that, personally it contains some of Oasis best tracks.
The Hindu Times is a fantastic rocker that would perfectly fit on to Definitely Maybe. Great guitar rifts and a great chorus, it is real ballsy stuff. Other highlights include Liam Gallagher's Songbird, which surprised many by being an incredibly sweet soft nice little tune - something many would not associate with rock's and hardest frontman. He also contributes with the heavily influenced Lennon song Born on A Differen Cloud - a song that shows a far cry from the average Little James he wrote ... Read More:

Constructive criticism is one thing, but some of the scathing reviews I have read on here are nothing short of pathetic.
Quite what the hell people expect from Oasis in this day and age is beyond me. After years of relative underachievement, 'DBTT' should be celebrated not berated.
Between the release of 'Supersonic' in 1994 and the enormity of Knebworth in 1996, Oasis were untouchable. Two classic albums, nine fantastic singles (with phenomenal b-sides often topping them), a clutch of era-defining gigs... they weren't a band, they were living legends, and like many teenagers back then, Oasis meant the world to me.
But 'Be Here Now', for all its inspired moments (DYKWIM?, Fade In/Out, Don't Go Away) arguably pushed the formula too far, with a bored/arrogant Noel ... Read More:
