The Quiet Vibration Landby: Oranger Release Date November 13, 2000 The best way to describe how this band sounds is as a kind of cross between Abbey Road-era Beatles (but NOT as good), ELO/Jeff Lynne and Toploader/all those other faux-70s-rock type acts. It's not insultingly bad, just not very original, and none of the songs, instruments or arrangements stand out, except in their overdependency on the above influences. There's some promise there, but they need to work on it. |

Innovative musical ideas and changes to keep you interested and a nice raw rocky sound which gives the songs energy. The first track 'Mike Love not War' instantly displays the influence of the Beach Boys. But unlike a lot of american bands who go for a retro style, they also boast punk energy and a nicely underproduced sound. Most of the songs are poppy and energetic. Watch out for the secret track! |
