Cabaret

This CD wasn't so much released as it escaped. It has to be the worst recording of the songs from both the show and the film that I have ever heard.

Judi Dench does her usual professional job on her songs, believable, quirky and full of character. However, Jonathan Pryce seems to have no idea of what the MC is about at all. His German accent has been acquired from the "Accents R Us" bargain basket, and he presents none of the menace and joy that are present in the MC's songs. Maria Friedmann is simply winsome in Sally's character songs, though she does work to put across the Englishness of Isherwood's Sally in the Kit Kat Klub songs.

I agree with other views that some of the tracks are not as in the film, but at last I have at least some of the NOS injected tunes! 'Furious' definatley being the most played out of all.

Love Story

The first time I saw Love Story was when I was a child in the 1980s. Apart from the very emotional story line, I remember the music the most. All my life this soundtrack has followed me.
The album contains a mix of beautiful recordings, with the classic 70s bass and drum sounds. A lovely sounding harpsichord appears through out and works amazingly against a girls voice, who sings so softly with the music. The piano and the strings make the album.
This soundtrack has touched me deep inside and I dont know why.
I do know that every song is so lovely recorded and arranged that I never get bored if hearing them. The song "Christmas Trees" is the most beautiful peice of music I have ever heard and always moves me.

If youre expecting the new DR.DRE album, well don't it is'nt. On this CD you'll get a mixture of dre, snoop, knoc-turnal.busta rhymes etc... and if you love rap you'll love this, but like i said don't expect dre's new album.
