I have to admit, I didn't go much on the previous POD release "Testify", just didn't sound right to me, it felt as though Payable On Death were trying too hard.
So I was very hesitant about getting this, but as soon as I had heard the first four tracks I knew POD were back to their Brown and Snuff The Punk days.
This is a great return to form and this is up there with "Southtown", which in my view was PODs best.
POD have just rejuvenated themselves with the welcome return of Marcos and is just a great release. My faith in POD has been restored.

Greatest Hits: the Atlantic Years

I love POd for their innovative mix of metal, rap and reggae. Bought this for the few rarities and new tracks, wasn't worth it. If you are new to POD then by all means give this album a listen but I would advise you try their album "Satelite" first as this is a great album and can be purchased very cheaply. "Testify" is also good but do start with "Satelite".

After waiting for so long to hear anything new from pod after satellite & pod the guys have returned with an album which is a sonic assault on the ears!
The real greatness of this record is that it brings pod back to the attention of mtv (there are songs like goodbye for now a no 1 hit music video in usa). The only sad thing is that pod possibly won't get promoting it over here in the UK or anywhere else as they've just left Atlantic records - check out their website for details - this I believe is a shame as testify is truely a great album for fans and non-fans alike. Fundamental Elements of Southtown

Payable On Death are an awesome band with a awesome attitude towards life. This album is by far their best effort to date with powerful songs like 'southtown' and 'rock the party'. The upbeat 'freestyle' is rocking. The whole album is a must to any 'good' cd collection with a wide selection of feel good music. The band are more than a mainstream commercialised rap metal outfit, P.O.D are down to their roots with feel good music dedicated to their 'warriors' (their fans). Yes its true P.O.D probably appeal to a 'limp Bizkit' audience but they can do better than that, they can appeal to an audience far wider than any other band seen before in this structurlised genre of 'rap metal'.Although a band yet to conquer beyond USA they will soon break boundaries and ... Satellite

I hadn't heard of these guys until Alive first hit the radio. While I really like that track, it was Youth Of the Nation which really hooked me, a sensitive, powerful song which will be inspiration to Christians and non-Christians alike, with an honest look at the problems young people face. It was that which tempted me to buy the CD. Although nothing quite matches YOTN, the overall quality is high.

The comment I really can't understand is that the album is repetitive. While many tracks are rooted in hard rock with a touch of rap, there are also slower moodier numbers and a touch of reggae, with guest performers on several tracks. What can i say if its sunny outside and your out riding your local mtb track this is what you need to listen to, it does everything you want a good heavy punk band to do they get you stoked for the ride. All brilliant songs highlights are L10, Waterdown, Surrounded By idiots, rewind, Total recall, Dejavu and summertime all classic songs. believe me you need this in your life. P.S they are british so support the boys!!!
