Brief review -

Can not compare to the Live in San fransisco album (for me). But still damned impressive guitar work. Some sweet melodies and fingerwork. Much more attention to the overall compositions and less on virtuosity. Generally much more laid back than thier live album 16 odd years previous.

But, this album has style, and I like it a lot none the less.

If you're looking for the franticly extreme skills shown on "fiday night in San fransisco" you wont really find it here.

But for beautiful flamenco atmosphere and noodling galore, buy this!

this was my introduction to flamenco- at first i didn't get it. it sounded messy. one day i read about the style and went back to the cd, suddendly it was clear. this is amazing music. the feeling, passion and power in the music is immense.

For me, this album is as magical as "Friday Night in San Francisco", save for the absence of a live audience on the recording.

The compositions are beautiful, intricate and immensely accomplished; technically, this work is phenemonal, being, if anything, even more demanding than "Friday Night". The rhythmic prowess and stylistic variation, fluidly moving between musical styles, has stepped up yet another gear.

This is brilliant music by three virtuoso musicians who play together with fantastic cohesion and telepathy.

Concierto De Aranjuez

I studied in Germany and in Brazil, learned Spanish in school and at university - and visited Spain and the Spanish islands (Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Tenerife) several times.

Paco de Lucia's Flamenco music reminds me on one of the best times in my life! I visited many interesting places all over Spain, met a lot of very friendly people, fell in love to very beautiful Spanish women, learned "Espanol", ... and fell in love to Spanish music!

As a German living now in the Middle East - Gulf region: Oman, Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Quatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, ... - I truly do appreciate the FLAMENCO music from South of Spain.

Entre Dos Aguas

Anyone who adored Paco's playing on the "Guitar Trio" or on"Friday Night in San Francisco" is in for an absolute treat with this collection.The CD features the sublime title track,collabrations with Larry Coryell and some out and out fast uncomprimising foot tapping flamenco. Also the guitar sound is beautifully captured on this disc and the only thing more sublime than hearing him play solo is on the frequent duets and combos.
