Pretty. Odd.

... says the opening track of their new album! Well, they may be the same band, but the sound is very different to the amazing 'A fever you can't sweat out'.

Pretty Odd has a more mainstream, polished feel to it - some may say that they've sold out, and have lost that uniqueness that made them so fresh and exciting just a couple of years ago, but I would say that although different, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

It took me a few listens before it grew on me (but then so did the first album) but after the 3rd or 4th time, it really started to get me, and now it's a constant companion on the journey to work - its amazing!

Just don't write them off being giving it a chance, or you may just live to regret ... Read More:

I first heard of P!atd years ago and considered buying their album...but after listening to the previews I decided to give it a pass, it didn't really seem like my thing. However, a few weeks ago my friend was trying to get me to buy an album too so we'd get the special offer...and the only thing I could see was this album, so I thought "Why not?". If you think it sounds okay from listening to the samples I say Go for it! It's only £5. When I first listened to the CD, what striked me most was how different each song sounded. Admittedly, at first I thought the lead singer sounded just like the lead singer of Fall Out Boy, but the more I listened the more different it sounded, and P!atd is nothing like anything I've ever heard before. The tune of this song makes no sense whatsoever the first time you hear it; seems like a bunch of random notes that can't possibly ever be catchy, even if its offbeat energy has grabbed you straight away.

After 2 or 3 listens, however, the seemingly too-crazy-to-ever-work melody sinks deep inside your brain. Soon enough, this frankly fantastic track becomes a sing-along affair.

Improves with each listen.

You get an official certificate of authenticity and this will tell you what number it is out of the worldwide printing of only 25,000.
