. Maximum Panteraby: Pantera Release Date September 03, 2001 I purchased this CD not knowing what was on it. Basically it is an unautorised biography of PANTERA which contains more or less the full saga with several short interviews. It is very informative although contains none of PANTERA's music. Despite being 55 mins long it is worth buying and listening too and it contains a mini poster, mini being the operative word. For people just discovering the wonders of PANTERA it is a must buy as it tells of the early Terry Glaze days as well as incidents in the bands life. I enjoyed this CD, and would recommend it to any PANTERA fan. |

. A Panther: A Tribute to Panteraby: Pantera.=Tribute= Release Date April 11, 2000 When listening to most tribute albums, all you get is the same songs with a different singer. With this, however; you don't even get that. Nobody can imitate the greatest powergroove metal band in the world. There are one or two very well presented songs on this album, but the fact remains that pantera are the best, and trying to do them justice by covering one of their songs is an imposible task. |

. Pantera Plusby: Pantera Release Date When listening to most tribute albums, all you get is the same songs with a different singer. With this, however; you don't even get that. Nobody can imitate the greatest powergroove metal band in the world. There are one or two very well presented songs on this album, but the fact remains that pantera are the best, and trying to do them justice by covering one of their songs is an imposible task. |

It is heavy alright but it lacks either strong melodies or top quality rhythm. The vocal track is over the top and the rest doesn't gel. "Vulgar display" is hugely better. In all honesty I find this album difficult to listen to, making me feel a bit like my old mum - yet I have a collection stuffed with Sabbath, Megadeth, Mettallica, Slayer etc. You will be told to turn this down/off - but in such circumstances it is better to have a sense of incomprehending indignation (as if for example you are playing "Vulgar Display") rather than honest agreement. Not for the casual fan. 3 stars? well it is heavy... |
