The tracklisting is almost perfect, and I can only think of one single missing (Don't Walk Away) but what is more important is the re-mastering. It is a pleasure to listen to. If you do not own any Benatar compilations, look no further ... this is the definitive collection despite it missing the abovementioned single. Other compilations have more than one missing track.

I just bought this album from the store,only 12 songs from the album is not enough.I alway's loved Pat Benatar,but this album,no,no,no!It start's off with Hit Me With Your Best Shot,though a very good song,and Benatar's famous song ever.Then it's another best shot,Love Is A Battlefield,thank goodness it is not edited.Next,We Belong,a kind of sad song because it reminds me of bad times,but I like it.Then,We Live For Love, one of my fav's but Heartbreaker is not first,hmm.Then Sex As A Weapon,a song I alway's liked,but kind of offensive.Then Invincible comes,once again NOT EDITED!Then Tracks #7-10 Are All Good Which Are Shadows Of The Night,Heartbreaker,Fire And Ice And Treat Me Right.Then a song that IS NOT even a Best Shot,If You Think You Know ... This disc combines Pat Benatar's first two albums on one disc, but let me comment on each album separately.

"Heartbreaker," the opening track on "In the Heat of the Night," was Pat Benatar's first hit, but it is not even close to being the best song on her debut album. For my money that would be "Don't Let It Show," which is the track that best shows off her vocal talents (i.e., the one where you can most tell she had opera training) although the entire album certainly shows off her entire range as a vocalist. There are the moody Chinn/Champman compositions "If You Think You Know How To Love Me" and the title track, the tongue in cheek "My Clone Sleeps Alone" and "Rated X," the punkish "So Sincere" and the promise of her first Neil Geraldo song, ... Very Best of Pat Benatar

One of the more sadly forgotten 80s artists, condensed down into an outing of Love Is A Battlefield every now and then on goldies radio (a fine showing, it must be said, but not the only one on here) and that's about it. However, with a couple of minor exceptions, this album rocks in a similar or harder style from start to finish and is well worth a small outlay. Pat's classical training in opera singing sure comes through on some of these pieces - Promises in the Dark and Fire & Ice being true killers. Tropico/Seven the Hard Way

The one constant on Pat Benatar's albums has always been the glorious voice. On "Tropico" what stands out as well is the music, which offers a rich and yet diverse collection of songs to compliment Benatar's singing. Neil Geraldo and the rest of the band are certainly hitting their stride at this point. Clearly this album gets away from basic rock & roll and into more sophisticated musical stylings from the almost classical guitary opening of "Temporary Heroes" to the synthesized rhythms of "Temporary Heroes." This is an album that can put the frenetic energy of the "Ooh Ooh Song" next to the moody blues of "The Outlaw Blues." True Love

Great album from Pat Benatar, big band swing this time, top songs are "So Long" "Bloodshot Eyes" "I Feel Lucky" "True Love" and "The Good Life" Pat has a great bluesy voice and delivers a quite amazing performance most notably on the song "So Long", also throughout the album is featured the Roomful Of Blues Horn section, great album, I hope she makes another one.
