I chased the music of this lady down simply as the main theme of the rather silly EVOLUTION film. The rest of the album however has turned out to be brilliant. The track I was chasing was 'anyway the main thing is' but with familiarity the whole thing is great, so how come I'd never heard of her. Anyway, well done lady.

I first heard a live version of "Wolf at the Door" on KFOG radio in the Bay area in 1998, and knew I just had to find out more. This whole album stands up to many listens, and becomes a comfortable friend, yet is always fresh. Patty Larkin is a remarkable example of a talented singer/ songwriter/ guitarist who is virtually unknown in the UK - you really have to hear her. You'll particularly like this if you are into the Jonatha Brooke/ Ani di Franco style of sparse, clear, sultry-yet-edgy vocals and instrumentation.
