While this CD is my least favorite of Paul Shanklin's political parody albums, it does contain some of my favorite individual tracks. The album, which actually dates back to 1997, opens strongly with "This Land Was Your Land," a song in which Clinton sings about selling America out to the Chinese and other Asians. Soon thereafter, Al Gore steps firmly into the spotlight to deliver my favorite Shanklin song of all time--"AlGore Paradise." Sung to the tune of "Gangsta's Paradise," it features Bill Clinton singing hilarious backup lines such as "Tell me why is it so hard to see whether he's really a man or just a tree?" "All I'm Gonna Do (sung to Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do") and "Slick Willie" (sung to the tune of "Macarena") are fast-tempoed, ... Read More:

This is easily Paul Shanklin's greatest, funniest CD. While material was never in short supply for Shanklin's acerbic political wit, the Monica Lewinsky scandal fanned the flames of political humor into an inferno of hilarity for this master parodist. Heck, these songs almost wrote themselves. This album includes 15 songs, the majority of them classics in every sense of the word. Bill Clinton wishes they could all be "White House Intern Girls" ("California Girls") and muses about the times "I Saw Her Derriere" ("I Saw Her Standing There"). Al Gore sings about his Buddhist monk campaign in "Friends in Asian Places" ("Friends in Low Places") and thanks Janet Reno for keeping him out of trouble with the song "Janet Angel" ("Johnny Angel"). Political parodist extraordinaire Paul Shanklin showed no signs of a sophomore slump with this, his second album, released during election year 1996; in fact, from top to bottom, this may well be his most consistently entertaining album. His impressions of Bill Clinton and Al Gore have been improved significantly, the skits he performs are quite funny, and the musical parodies he sings are all fun and sung to rather catchy, familiar songs. Most of the selections feature Bill Clinton and/or Al Gore, but Shanklin does manage to sneak in a few jabs elsewhere. Louis Farrakhan promises to show you how one plus one can be nineteen and how half a million people can be made to equal two million in his new book Million Man Math Made Easy. Ross Perot puts in ... Paul Shanklin is the king of political parody, as many a Dittohead will attest, and political humor at Bill Clinton's expense never gets old to these ears. 1999's Simply Reprehensible is Shanklin's fifth album, and it finds him at the height of his voice impersonating power. He has never sounded more like Bill Clinton and James Carville, and he draws in a vast circle of Clinton's Democratic cronies for this very special album awash in the Monica Lewinsky scandal. He also expands his repertoire to add a few skits and songs having to do with other matters in the political eye, including such subjects as the militaristic militants in Montana, Viagra, spanking, and the fate of 60s protestors.
These 32 tracks, running just under an hour, can ... Read More:

With the release of this album in 1995, Paul Shanklin firmly established himself as the king of political humor (to those who dislike the Clintons and Gores, anyway). Needless to say, those who strongly support Clinton, Gore, and the Democrats will certainly hate this album. If you enjoyed laughing at all of the Clinton jokes in days gone by, Shanklin's material is just more of a good thing. The anti-Clinton/Gore crowd will absolutely love Paul Shanklin, and many will likely find themselves listening to these tracks over and over again; when I'm in a bad mood, Shanklin rarely fails to cheer me up. Many of Shanklin's tunes have been featured on the Rush Limbaugh radio program, so there is a good chance you may have heard some of these parodies there. ... Read More:
