Straight Ahead

by: Pennywise

Release Date June 01, 1999
This is the best Pennywise album to buy to date! Theres not really a bad song on the cd, just some are better than others!

"Greed" and "My own country" are two of the best opening songs ive heard on any album, they really get you hooked and you'll want to carry on and listen to the rest of the album.

Other really good song on the album are "Alien", "One voice" and "Straight ahead".

If you like bands like Blink 182, New Found Glory and Sum 41, give Pennywise a go, there slightly different but "Straight ahead" will open your eyes up to a whole new world of Punk.

Reason to Believe

by: Pennywise

Release Date March 24, 2008
I agree with the prior review. The album itself is not at all a poor album, but with a punk album you want something that is either unexpected or that varys throughout and is in your face. However, this album has some highlights but generally you could putit on in the background and forget it's on. Just not in your face enough.

About Time

by: Pennywise

Release Date March 07, 2005
I am an old Pennywise fan this is by far the gretaest of all Pennywise albums, defining their sound ever since. Pennywise invented crunching palm-muted speed-driven guitar with this album. Peaceful Day, Perfect people, Same old story, killing time or all unbelievable anthems and thats not detracting from the rest of the album. The first recorded version of Bro Hymn is also laid in as a secret track.

Full Circle

by: Pennywise

Release Date March 07, 2005
I found this album a right mess, some good tracks then a few lame ones, then another good track and then a poor one, then an average one, then a quite good track, then a great track, then terrible, well you get the overall picture.
This album is lauded as their best, their pivotal album, built from the pain of the death of a member and it has a poignant stance about it,reflective and tries to bring the feelings all and while the lyrics tend to get that across more than not,the riffs just dont fall right, maybe they aint the band for me then, yes many will love this and i tried and i failed.

Live at the Key Club

by: Pennywise

Release Date October 16, 2000
After 12 years as a band, Pennywise finally released a live album!
And its a live album that doesn't fail to disappoint. The songs are played perfectly, the crowd sings along, PWise chants are started and the band talk to the crowd and riff inbetween songs.
These are the concepts that make a live album great - and they are all present in this album.
My one quibble is that they don't play many of my favourite songs, but that's just a minor detail.
The album opens brilliantly with my overall favourite Wise song - Wouldn't It Be Nice. They play all their hits including Peaceful Day, Perfect People, Unknown Road, Homesick and a great cover of Minor Threat. It all finishes after only fifty minutes with an amazing encore of the ... Read More:

Pennywise

by: Pennywise

Release Date April 07, 1992
Excellent album, generally consistant containing some wicked riffs and a little ska thrown in. Song 'Pennywise is dissapointing, but the last song Bro Hym is an absolute masterpiece, and although unlike most of Pennywise's work, one of the best songs you'll ever here. Stunning punk album. If you like Pennywise try bands like Pulley, the Ataris and Frenzal Rhomb.

From the Ashes [CD + DVD]

by: Pennywise

Release Date September 08, 2003
This album was excellent and the DVD was very funny, showing the making of the album, its significance and also some home videos of the band, which strongly reminded me of Jackass. The style of music is a bit like Green Day or Sum 41 and my favourite tracks were Waiting and Judgement Day. The only thing which brought the album down though was that it sounds so much like all the other pennywise albums.

Land of the Free

by: Pennywise

Release Date June 11, 2001
If you are new to Pennywise, and buy this album then you'll probably love it. It contains everything that is great about the Wise - furious power chords, pounding drums and unbelievably catchy choruses.
However, if you buy any of Pennywise's other albums you'll soon realise that this isn't really anything special.
It opens with four great songs, but goes downhill from there.
With this album, Pennywise took their political views too far and it soon became boring. Everyone loves a political song, but not an album full of inane rants.
It is worth buying just for fantastic songs like 'Land of the Free?', 'The World' and 'Anyone Listening'. These three songs easily rank among Pennywise's all time greats.
