This album was released in two versions - The blue cover, as here, is a collection of RZA produced offcuts from various minor Wu-Tang cronies, apparently 'inspired' by the movie. A version with an otherwise identical white cover is the actual S/T of the movie: This was only released in Japan and occasionally pops up in the racks for about 25 quid. But it is the one you'll be wanting and rates 5 stars - possibly the best thing he's ever done.

Its highly rated but im not really feeling this album. Rza is a talented rapper and does a great job over the occaisional verse with the clan but I thought a whole album of him would be too much. Here rza surpasses all expectations. However this really is meant to be a producer's album and for me this is where 'bobby' fails to deliver. There are signs of the classic 'wu sound' (skeletal/sampled strings). But in my opinion although different the production is miles from that of 'cuban linx' or 'liquid swords'. I really hate the stupid 'slow grind' skits.

this is a compilation that is definitely worth getting if you are heavily in to funk. there are some brilliant, brilliant songs on here, and many that you would probably never here unless you were a dedicated collector. for instance, skying high's 'getting off on your loving' is a song that in my opinion can match much of the best of parliaments output and i have never, ever heard of them. there are a few weak songs though and its kind of a disjointed listen. rza's selection is probably the strongest of the two, but keb darge has got the real gems. if your looking for an introduction to funk, then your probably better off going for some james brown or sly and the family stone compilation. or mothership connection by parliament.

First off, I've spent the best part of the last 15 years listening to Rza's beats and I love them. He is definitely one of the most talented producers to grace the game.
On to the CD, it is filled with gems. The dichotomy between the harder beats such as Ya'll been warned, 7th Chamber and Severe Punishment are in stark contrast to the more emotional softer Child's Play, Domestic Violence & Knowledge God.
Every track has a champion beat designed by a master.
I would have liked to have seen Verbal Intercourse, Handwriting on the wall, 260, 4th Chamber, Shadow Boxin, Tres Leches (Tri Boro) included but this is a definite must have for people that respect what Rza brings.

This album is very interesting because it gives us touches from different countries. I recommend to everybody that loves Hip-Hop and basecly contemporary music. This production is different but it has the connection, the feeling that hip-hop is hip-hop [music] no matter where you go.
There are MC's from several countries, so languages... I am lucky as I speak English, French, Spanish, and I understand basicly the Italian (in a song, when I hear it over and over:). The German, I just found the lyrics on the Internet and translate them at Google.com. (As I kinda like to know at is going on.) So I understand all the album but the Turkish...Too bad, I speak Portuguese too, but there is none in it.
Bottom line this album is for everyone! ... Read More:

Greatest Hits collections always divide opinion amongst fans, and surely no two Wu fans will agree on the final track listing. Where for example is the awesome 'Glaciers Of Ice' from Raekwon's 'Only Built For Cuban Linx' LP or 'Labels' from 'Liquid Swords' or 'Daytona 500' from 'Ironman'? The release of 'Hits' serves a dual purpose. Firstly and most importantly, it reminds long-time fans how good the Wu used to be. An unfortunate by-product of this is that it is a constant reminder of how bad they have become.
The first two tracks, 'Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing Ta F' Wit' and 'Protect Ya Neck' are two of the most essential hip hop tracks ever released. Both are lifted from the Wu's debut LP 'Enter The 36 Chambers', which is held up to be one of the finest ... Read More:

This album is another banga from the rza in his digital alias and is definately one for all the heads out there. Expect on point production and some of the clan droppin a verse now n then. Dont be expecting anything like on kill bill which is another masterpiece by RZA not bobby, this album isnt a film soundtrack its pure hip hop, and none of that 50cent crap on TV.

Okay, technically this may not be a 5 star classic album but being released amidst the amount of diluted and commercialised hip hop junk out there, this album is definetely a refreshing slice of east-coast rap music. Rza has always been one of my favourite MC's and his technical ability and lyrical genius shines on this album over layers of some of the most funky hooks and beats that you are likely to hear this year. It's also good to see Rza returning to his conscious roots by using uplifting intelligent lyrics as opposed to some of the trash he spurted out on the Bobby Digital album. Don't get me wrong, there is still a bit of Bobby Digi on this album but the bulk of the album is more original Rza. Outstanding tracks [and i do mean outstanding] include "The Birth" (the ...
