Mutter

This was the first Rammstein album I ever bought and it remains my favourite to this day. If you're new to Rammsteins sound this is definetely the album to start with from the slower songs like "Spieluhr" and "Spiel Mit Mir" to the epic riffs of "Mein Herz Brennt" this album is amazing and has a song for all moods. Dominant tracks include "Mutter" and "Sonne" but end ones like "Zwitter" are great as well. As soon as you hear the opening chords to "Mein Herz Brennt" with that orchestre you'll just immerse yourself into the album. The price too is good, as I normally see it priced up to £15 in HMV. For new fans listen to a few tracks on YouTube then buy this album - its worth it.

Reise, Reise

Bought this album on a whim, after bumping into it on here and seeing all the positive reviews. Very glad I did. It's surprisingly melodic and great to drive to. The only low point (for me) is Amerika which, because it's partly sung in heavily accented English, sounds a bit Eurovision. That apart it's fascinating stuff that bears repeated listening. If you've never bought music like this before don't be put off. I've immediately ordered most of their back catalogue.

Sehnsucht

Rammstein are my favourite band so its hard for me to say a bad word about them. Although Hertzeleid is my favourite album I also really like this album. Its always best if you play any of their songs loud, who cares about the neighbours anyway? I like metal music and Rammstein have put their own individual twist on it which works really well. My advise is to at least listen to some of their songs then you will know what I'm talking about, then buy the albums, they don't have a bad one yet!!!

I agree with all the other reviews.

On the strength of the Nimes concert alone, this is fantastic value for money, but there is also a bonus DVD (which I haven't looked at yet) and an audio CD.

The Nimes concert is simply stunning, both audibly and visually. The Dearest Boss and I also thought that some of the on-stage antics and theatrics were quite funny. The Dearest Boss said I should get a pair (or is it a set?) of lederhosen like yer man with the guitar.

I thought the live stuff on LICHTSPIELHAUS (or whatever it is called) was good, but this is streets ahead. The sound quality is better too, being in DTS. It is fantastic for cranking up the volume. Another good DVD for annoying the neighbours.

Rosenrot

Possibly the best packaged album I own, this is another fine album by Germany's finest. Still the recognisable Rammstein style with many variations in tempo and power in here and remarkably easy to get into. Perhaps not as powerful and consistent as Mutter, I still give this 5 stars as under the Amazon star system it deserves them because I LOVE this album.

Strictly speaking, this album doesn't need another glistening review; it has enough fans. I really ought to be off defending something that needs the help like the rubbish Revolver or the misunderstood Bob Hoskins-starring Super Mario Bros.

The Rammsetin of Herzeleid is a much different beast to that of later albums, the self aware Sehnsucht or the chart ready days of Mutter onwards. Live Aus Berlin

This album records Rammstein live, and the bad are notoriously wild in live perfomances. However, the album starts slowly, and the band's choice of opening tracks are far too tame, and at first the listener feels rather let down. However, "Weisses Fleisch" really starts to heat things up, and by the time we reach "Sensucht" the band are in full glorious flow. For the rest of the album the band boom along, with only two tracks slightly slowing the relentless pace ("Wilder Wein" and "Rammstein" slightly break the momentum, but not seriously so). Having seen Rammstein live, I can testify that they have definitely gotten better live since this album was recorded, so if they ever release another live one, keep an eye out for it. here is a debut to be proud of.
big riffs,a bigger electronic influence hangs over this album than the rest giving it a groovier,dancier feel.the guitars are lower in the mix and the vocals are less melodic.
the songs are excellent,very simple in comparison to their later output and as a result feel almost streamlined in comparison,which i quite like.
if you are expecting to hear another "mutter" or "reise reise" you will be disappointed,this is a basic starting template that they used to expand on their sound and as such is a very good piece of work.
the grandeur is still to come,but the overall impression is a good one,the only thing that i would say holds this album back is that you dont get that initial rush that you get with the later work,this album is a grower and if you give ... Read More:
