Bird and the Bee Sides [Us Import]

I have every Relient K album and EP to date, considering myself as a huge fan. I pre-ordered this album upon hearing about it's release, and when it arrived this morning, I was filled with exictement.

The album contains both new and remixes of older songs from other EP's and LP's. Their music seems to improve with every CD they release, both in Matt Thiessens vocals and piano, and the guitars played by Hoopes, Warne and Schneck. Ethan Luck has also done a very good job on the drums as a new addition to the band.

If Christian rock is your thing, you might like this CD. Although some lyrics have religious meaning or relevance, I'd say that Relient K are probably more of an Alternative Rock / Punk / Pop band who happen ... Read More:

MMHMM

Since I got this album for Christmas, I've played it over and over... and over! The music is rocky, but not overly so, the lyrics have christian meanings, but not in-your-face, loads of my non-christian friends are getting into relient k. All my favourite Relient k songs are on this album (I So Hate Consequences, My Girl's Ex-boyfriend, Who I Am Hates Wo I've Been etc.) well I've run out of things to say, except if you;re thinkingof buying this album, think no more! lol. What's next on my list? Switchfoot, I love 'I Dare You To Move'. Anyway...

Five Score and Seven Years Ago

I got this album the week it was released and some months later I still love it. The punk/rock wall of sound this CD makes is great. Crank it up loud to appreciate it at its best. I just wish they would tour the UK. If you like the Ramones, U2, Blink 182, Stellar Kart, Everyday Sunday etc this ones for you.

Unlike the previous 'reviewers' of this album, i won't compare them to blink 182, becos they are simply nothing like them. All these people are going on is the fact that Blink 182 USED to be a jokey, poo-poo, pee-pee band with humourous lyrics. However, their music sounds nothing alike. Both bands have equally definitive sounds and have lots of talent, with Blink 182 having slightly more so in my opinion.
This album is great for chilling out to and listening to in the Spring, Summer, Autumn and indeed Winter.

Two Lefts Don't Make a Right... But Three Do

Unlike the previous 'reviewers' of this album, i won't compare them to blink 182, becos they are simply nothing like them. All these people are going on is the fact that Blink 182 USED to be a jokey, poo-poo, pee-pee band with humourous lyrics. However, their music sounds nothing alike. Both bands have equally definitive sounds and have lots of talent, with Blink 182 having slightly more so in my opinion.
This album is great for chilling out to and listening to in the Spring, Summer, Autumn and indeed Winter.

Apathetic EP

a brillient introduction for those new to Relient K and a fabulous bonus to existing fans. this ep features beautiful acoustic renditions of a few tracks from MMHMM, the studio album prior to the EP, as well as "apathetic way to be" a bonus track that was only included on the vinyl pressings of the album. plus others, including an acoustic version of "over thinking" previously featured on their Two Lefts Dont Make A Right.. But Three Do studio album.
the stand out track for me would be "in like a lion" which was originally written about the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. the song writing is solid and is made that extra bit special by the vocal harmonies and beautifully recorded mix of piano and acoustic guitars throughout the EP. ... Two Lefts Don't Make a Right... But Three Do

Relient K are in my mind the saviors of that muddy, yet beautifully sparkling, frost laden no mans land between bands such as Weezer & Thursday. They will storm over the top with their guitars and catchy little complexities in hand – wielding youthful wisdom with a dangerous intent. The delightfully insightful and intelligently witty; ‘Mood Rings’ takes the age old colour changing mood ring product and seamlessly relates it to the actions and reactions of girls. This is beautifully structured with a charmingly melodic acoustic bridge. There is a little more power to be found in; ‘Chap Stick…’ – however this is a much more intense display of intelligence and overall song writing.

The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek

This is one of the best albums R.K have done and i would definately reccomend buying it. Every song on here is great! This CD is great if you are into punk/rock and has a mix of both, you can sing along to all of the song if you want, as they are all really catchy. If you like this Cd uou should buy all of the others as they are all on a par with this one.
