The reformed Specials previous album `Today's Specials' was universally condemned for being an album of covers and so to right this on `Guilty `Till Proved Innocent' The Specials collect together 15 `original' compositions.
Roddy Radiation AKA Byers was always The Specials second most prolific writer and so it is appropriate that four of the 15 songs should be written by him. They are amongst the best of the songs collected here especially album opener `Tears in my Beer' which is reminiscent of the original Specials however the claim to original compositions is somewhat defeated by `Bonediggin' and `Man With No Name' had been recorded previously by Roddy's post Specials bands.
