This for me is heavy metal/rock of the very highest quality and if you have never heard this album before and planning to buy it, then I am absolutely convinced that you will be amazed at how good this album is, every single track is at the very least above average

If you have never heard of Tesla and have no idea what type of a heavy metal/rock group they are, then I will try and give a few tips. Here are a few classic heavy metal/rock bands which I am one hundred per cent sure you will have heard at least one of the following, DIAMOND HEAD, SCORPIONS, GUNS N' ROSES, VAN HALEN, W.A.S.P., SKID ROW, UFO AND MOTLEY CRUE. Psychotic Supper

Mechanical Reasonance is a fantastic record, one of the best rock/metal albums of the era. The Great Radio Controversy was in the same vein, but not nearly as good; more of the same but with less grit and emotion.

Psychotic Supper falls between the two.

The sound has moved on in terms of musical progression and is a better record than the Controversy album, but the raw enthusiasm of Mechanical Reasonance is not matched.

Edison's Medicine, Don't De Rock Me, Call It What You Want, Song And Emotion (a heartfelt tune about an unassuming bloke from Sheffield), Freedom Slaves, and What You Give are all good tunes (Government Personnel, too), thereby making it a good album.

Mechanical Resonance

Can't really put this into words. Second only (and by a hair's breadth) to Appetite For Destruction.

Stunning musicianship, incredible songs, fantastic twin guitars, tight-as-flip rhythm section. Tesla were once called thinking man's metal & also compared to Van Halen. What an insult!!

Tesla were unique. I remember seeing them support Def Leppard at Leicester in 1987 and they blew the Leps (one of my fave bands) off stage.

You can't pigeon hole Tesla. At their best (i.e. on this album) they were sensational. High octane rock music at it's sensational best. Unlike many others, this has stood the test of time & still sounds fresh as a daisy, even now. An incredible debut.

Real to Reel Vol.1

American hard rockers TESLA are back on the scene, and this, their 6th studio album, is a collection of classic rock covers from the 1960's and 1970's. While their fans would have preferred a collection of original material, 'Real to Reel' is an enjoyable nod to the (very) old school. The production is deliberately old fashioned as the album was recorded using analogue equipment, and this makes for a raw, energetic performance.


DEEP PURPLE's 'Space Truckin' and UFO's 'Rock Bottom' provide great headbanging material, but in all honesty, while solid enough, neither version here has anything like the magic of the originals. all in all i thought this set was a little souless,but however still an asset to the collector.but be warned, this is just the stripped down version of the complete set list on the double cd gig entitled re plugged live . go for the latter its better value for hard earned cash.
