Firstly, I know it is a little pointless reviewing an album before it is out but im doing this mostly in spite of the previous review who doesn't have a clue about what he is saying. Also after hearing Human, Spaceman, and Neon Tiger I can truly attest to the fact that Day and Age is going to be incredible!!
We already know just how good the Killers are from Hot Fuss, Sam's Town and Sawdust and something tells me they won't disappoint on their third album proper.
Preorder it now! Let's give them another chart topping, number 1 album!
Release Date May 15, 2006
I bought this album because I really like the track 'Mr Brightside' which is excellent and easily the best thing on the album. Some of the others are ok but I couldn't listen to this from start to finish as it would annoy me intensely. The reason I'm not that fond of it is because I often struggle to see a lot in mainstream pop music generally - it all seems to have either been done before or just doesn't mean anything to me I'm afraid! I appreciate that the band have been immensely successful and I would imagine that if you saw them live it would be a great performance. Not really my kind of thing on a CD though.

I was really excited when I heard the Killers were finally releasing their second album...then I heard "When You Were Young" and I had no idea what had happened to them, it was like the Synth-Pop of Hot Fuss had been thrown completely out the window. Part of me wondered if the Killers were really just Brandon Flowers and a backing band, and if he had just replaced the entire backing band for this album but apparently it's the same band which still feels a little hard to believe.
So anyway, just when I grew to think "When You Were Young" was a great song, the Killers released "Bones", and the song was just so awful it put me off buying the album and I decided to not even consider doing it. Things that changed my mind were being sent ... Read More:

If, when you hear the warbling sound of Brandon Flowers erractic maybe flaky voice your ears prick up with glee, The Killers secretly brilliant lyrics pummelling through you, then I see you have no choice but to purchase this album immediately. You will not be put off by the simularity of the many tracks. (I frequently start singing one and accidently somehow blend it into another part way through.)
Nevertheless for the rest of us it is a good (rather long) collection of many moderate tracks, but intertwinded with some sparkling gems, true rarities. Nothing less than is expected.
A good heart gushing chat on the phone with a friend you haven't seen in a while to tide you over whilst you eagerly await their homecoming.

****FANTASTIC ALBUM****
This is one of the best albums of this type i have heard recently. There are some fantastic songs with great bass and some great songs with awesome drum bashing! You will probably recognise 'Smile like you mean it', 'All these things that i've done' and 'Somebody told me'. They are all recent big hits. You will also see that there are some that you don't recognise. 'Andy, you're a star', 'On top' and 'Glamerous Indie rock & roll'. Don't be put off buy the unkown!!! These are all great songs written superbly. I cannot think of any songs on here that i wouldn't want to listen to, there are no songs on here that aren't catchy and there are no songs that aren't well written hits! What i can garentee if you do buy this ... Read More:

It's cheesy, and not in a good way. Brandon's unique vocal sound seems to be becoming more and more pronounced over time and it can begin to drag on the casual listener. The artwork is cheesy too as is the spoken word parts to the song.
It seems almost as if the Killers only released this song almost as a tradition to see if they could follow up the success of last year's fun A Great Big Sled.
It's not all bad though, while the verses may come across as lacklustre, the chorus is pretty damn good and suitably epic in that unique Killers style. Fans will lap this single up and to be fair, i think it has a lot of potential to grow with repeated listens but it just doesn't grab like so many of the Killers' ... Read More:

buy this single and you not only get the fantastically catchy tune somebody told me (that you had a boyfriend that looked like a girlfriend etc etc) but also the wonderful ballard of micahel valentine which you will no doubt be singing along to after only a few listens. Under the guns not a bad tune either. this single is a must for any killers fan!
Release Date February 26, 2001
Good intros spoiled by random shouting and fast drum beats. It is worth a listen but do not be under any illusions that this is 'Blues'. Overall a disappointment.
