Very ,very dissapointed with this CD, heard a bit on classic FM, rushed out to buy it, There have been 100s of albums with pipes and drums, and I though being The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards it would be superior. I regret having spent my money on this CD. look for budget CDs of pipe music, you will probably get the real thing, and much better.

I find this disappointing.
You'll probably like it if you like military bands in general, but it's not really pipe band music. It's pipes mixed in with other stuff.
And I have to say that the principal piper seems to lack a feel for the timing of the music.

What can I say, I love this cd, some good tunes and some good mix with the bagpipes and drums.

Especially liked the theme tune version to Soldier Soldier, Braveheart and Last Of The Mohicans...

This is a remarkable album. One which I implore you to listen to.
It's true that the cynics on either side may claim "not enough bagpipes" (fans of the pipes) or "too much bagpipes" (fans of contemporary rock), but that isn't the real point. The real point is that the Scottish Regiment, driven by then Colonel, now Brigadier, David Alfrey, have blended rock with pipes and made a highly creditable, musically stirring new type of fusion in the process. And enticing into the mix the lyrical guitar of Mark Knopfler, a man of impeccable musical taste, surely proves this.
There are plenty of rock albums, there are plenty of pipes albums, but there's only one Parallel Tracks. Go listen with open ears.
